The so-called gaming wars between consoles and PCs have changed significantly in recent years, with more games crossing over between platforms and arriving on PC. The majority of theYakuzagame series is about to join them, coming to PC and Xbox One for the first time.

Initially, gamers who wanted to playYakuzafrom start to finish had to play the games on a PS4, with onlyYakuza 0,Kiwami, andKiwami 2making the jump to PC and Xbox One. However, that’s about to change, as Sega has now announced that theYakuza Remastered CollectionandYakuza 6are both coming to PC and Xbox One in 2021.

TheYakuza Remastered Collection, which contains remastered copies ofYakuza 3, 4, and5, will become available for players on PC via Steam, and Xbox One as purchases or Xbox Game Pass titles starting on July 19, 2025. Gamers who quickly devour those three titles won’t have to wait long for thefinal chapter of Kazuma Kiryu, asYakuza 6: The Song of Lifewill release on July 24, 2025 for PC and Xbox.

With this announcement, the entire coreYakuzaseries will soon be available on PC and Xbox, giving fans a chance to enjoy the games from start to finish. Notably absent from the list of prior PlayStation-exclusive western releases isYakuza: Dead Souls, which received a mixed reception upon release for the PS3. However, the list of available PC and Xbox games also includes therecentYakuza: Like a Dragon, which pivots away from the original series story and follows a new protagonist. The decision to bring these games to new systems is in-keeping with Sega’s prior discussions on the matter, where it highlighted that it was interested in bringing more titles to PC that had previously only been available on consoles, likePersona 4.

While the majority of these games stem from thePS3 era, fans who haven’t tried these games before will likely find something to enjoy here. Bringing theseYakuzagames to PC and Xbox also means that they will be available in 1080p and will run at 60 FPS. Releasing for the PC may also open the doors for graphical overhaul mods from the fans, though time will tell if any such projects are released by the community at large.

The news of the full set ofYakuzagames coming to PC and Xbox can only mean good things for the 15-year-old series, which has recently seen a major increase in sales following the release ofLike a Dragonin Japan. Though fans are still waiting to seewhat’s next for theYakuzagame series, going forward, PC and Xbox players can likely expect any future releases to also arrive promptly - if not simultaneously - which will undoubtedly drive sales even further for Sega.
