Why WWE 2K22’s MyGM Mode Needs Improvements

MyGM Mode made a spectacular comeback inWWE 2K22after years of not featuring in the series, finally giving fans what they had been asking for. While the game mode was not perfect, it was a return to arguably the most successful era in the games, where thebest GM modes inWWEthrived, providing older players with nostalgia and newer players a mode to experience life as a general manager of a show. However, there are still many areas in the MyGM Mode that still need to be worked on to bring it back to its former glory.

One of the main drawbacks ofWWE 2K22’s MyGM Mode is the fact that there is only one male and female champion assigned to each show, which immediately reduces the depth available to players. TheMyGM Mode could be improvedseeing that it requires players to create matches where a face fights a heel in order to receive a good match rating. Finally, the number of matches, the match types, and the starting budget all affect the customization settings of each show and do not give players the ability to handle a large roster.

WWE 2K23 Needs To Improve The Game Mode

ForWWE 2K23to give players a more well-rounded and complete experience of managing a show, these issues will need to be addressed. Future MyGM Mode iterations need to have a bigger starting budget, more match types, and a higher number of matches per show to allow players to create the matches they would want to see. This would also help bring up the rating of each show since they are not limited to only scheduling normal match types, and more importantly, it would give players ample opportunities to find the perfect formula for a high-rated match.

Another major issue that takes a lot away from the realism that the game mode is trying to instill is that there are only two titles per show. While apatch forWWE 2K22’s MyGM Modedid add tag-team titles, it still does not have many singles titles available to superstars, such as the United States Championship and the Intercontinental Championship. Finally,WWE 2K23’s MyGM Mode would also have to try to ensure that character types, such as face or heel, cruiserweight or giant, don’t affect the match type. This severely limits the customization options offered by the game mode and does not allow for some of the most iconic rivalries such as Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker.

Bringing back MyGM Mode inWWE 2K22was a great decision by Visual Concepts and 2K Games as it finally allowed players to dive back into supervising their own show and attempting to make it the most successful show yet. While there are still many issues in the game mode that needs to be cleaned up,WWE 2K23is in the perfect position to do so. Further,WWE 2K22may have shown fans that the series still has life, but it will be up toWWE 2K23needs to overcome2k22’s roster struggleto continue the success of the series.
