Once a month, theDarkmoon Fairestops at the edge of Elwynn Forest outside of Stormwind or the verdant plains of Mulgore. Trade bits of rare junk for valuable tickets to purchase these mysterious wares. Step right up to the striped tent and the carnies of Azeroth will trade those tickets for unique and often powerful items.

Some of the prizes rewarded at the Darkmoon Faire are entirely cosmetic and have no value other than looking great. On the other hand, other important items are sought after by players all over theWorld of Warcraftas best-in-slot pieces.
10Darkmoon Flower
A purely cosmetic item held in the character’s offhand. There are several other versions of this in the game, such as Penelope’s Rose or the Forever-Lovely Rose, so unless the player is a collector theDarkmoon Floweris totally optional.
It’s one of the cheapest items available for only five tickets.

9Last Month’s Mutton
Another collector’s itemfor those classes that can equipa mace, it’s funny to walk around with a weapon that looks like a big holiday ham. It’s a Common quality item, so it won’t help with stats or combat, but it’s great for RP or just showing off.

Players have to decide whether or notLast Month’s Muttonis worth the cost of 10 tickets. It’s used as a cosmetic even though it does work as a weapon.
8Last Year’s Mutton
Most players who want to getLast Month’s Muttonalso tend to getLast Year’s Mutton. Either one can also be equipped as an offhand weapon, so it looks good with a food, feasting,or cooking-themed equipment set.
In case they get mixed up, Last Year’s Mutton is the bigger one and Last Month’s Mutton looks like someone took a bite out of it. It’s a more costly almost-useless item at 50 tickets.

7Schematic: Steam Tonk Controller
It’s only useable by characters who have takenon the Engineering professionand have a level of at least 275, but those that have 40 tickets to spare can sell it on the Auction House if they’re willing to make the investment.
If a player can learn from the schematic to make the Steam Tonk, then they can also make and sell them. Neither the recipe nor the Steam Tonk itself is bind-on-pickup and therefore it can be sold or traded.

6Darkmoon Storage Box
It’s exactly where it belongs, smack in the middle because storage can be a blessing but only at certain levels. The Darkmoon Storage Boxis simply a 14-slot bag, which won’t impress anyone with the Tailoring skill or a character level past 60, but is invaluable to a lower-level player.

The bag costs 50 tickets, which is a high price for a mundane item that doesn’t cost that much at the Auction House.
5Minor Darkmoon Prize
Essentially a type of loot box, because it’s filled with random items of varying quality. It’s common to find green items, including both gear and recipes, and at only five tickets it’s worth taking the chance.
Lower-level players will benefit more from this prize, but there are others for higher-level playersthat are better and more expensive.

4Lesser Darkmoon Prize
The mid-level version of the Darkmoon Faire “loot boxes.” These contain the same but more of what the Minor version has.

The Lesser Darkmoon Prize is almost guaranteed to contain high-quality common or green items, including rare or valuable resources, and not too expensive at the cost of 12 tickets.
3Greater Darkmoon Prize
These prizes often contain only one or two items, but they’re high-level recipes or rare schematics, so players don’t mind spending 40 tickets to buy one. That can equate to a much bigger loss in this case if the prize turns out to be little or even nothing.
Patternsfor high-level Tailoringand plans for mechanical pets can be found in a Greater Darkmoon Prize. Even if a player doesn’t have the training to use a pattern, they can sell it at the Auction House.

2Amulet Of The Darkmoon
There are two purple items available from the Darkmoon Faire, and this is only the lesser of the two because it’s ideal for fewer classes. This is the Molten Core-level best-in-slot item for Elemental Shamans and Rogues, and it’s worth the 1200 tickets to buy one.

The Amulet of the Darkmoonis a neckpiece that gives the wearer a +19 to Agility, +10 to Stamina, and +10 to Strength, which is great for melee DPS classes. It requires the character to be at least level 60 to equip.
1Orb Of The Darkmoon
One of the most sought-after pieces of gear in the game, and the most popular item that players can win as a prize at the Darkmoon Faire, theOrb of the Darkmoonis the BiS for several classes.
Like the only other Epic item that’s winnable through the Faire, the character needs to be at least level 60 to equip the Orb. It gives the wearer +11 to Stamina, +8 to Spirit, and increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 22. Spirit is more useful to some classes than others, but virtually every spell-casting class benefits from Stamina and increased damage and healing.
