Bethesda Softworks releasedThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimback in 2011, and since then, the game has received several ports across multiple generations of consoles. While playing through the main quest and side objectives,Skyrimfans continue to discover hidden details, create their ideal in-game homes, and come across some bugs that had previously gone under the radar.
Reddit user This-Strawberry recently shared a clip of their adventures inSkyrimas they enter a room of The Companions' headquarters, Whiterun Hold. The Companionsare one of the many guilds inThe Elder Scrolls:Skyrim, and there are some NPCs at Whiterun Hold that send players on quests in order for them to rank up with the guild and progress in its storyline. One such NPC called Kodlak Whitemane is sitting at a table as This-Strawberry approaches from his left in the video to take a seat on the chair across the table from him.

Before taking a seat next to Kodlak Whitemane, the Dragonborn places their hand on the table near a pie which initiates a briefthird-person animation inSkyrimshowing the player character sitting on the chair. Instead of the game recognizing that This-Strawberry intended to sit rather than interact with the pie, the action causes a weirdSkyrimaccident in which the pie and chair are somehow linked. As the third-person sequence begins, the pie on the table flips in a trajectory that allows it to slide carefully onto the chair before This-Strawberry’s character finishes the sitting animation.
Because Kodlak Whitemane has a quest marker in This-Strawberry’s clip, the player may be turning in the Take Up Arms, Blood’s Honor, or Glory of the Dead quests, as these are the NPC’s available quests. Beyond completing quests and earning experience, the primary reasonSkyrimplayers will join The Companions is unlocking the ability toturn into Werewolveswith an ability earned by completing tasks for the guild.
Although This-Strawberry’s character ended up sitting on the pie, the character didn’t damage the food, and after returning to their feet, it’s likelythe Dragonborncould’ve eaten the same pie that flipped onto the chair. It’s currently unclear what caused the pie to act so erratically in This-Strawberry’s video, but the game may have gotten confused by what object in the room the player was trying to interact with, so their character connected with both possibilities.Skyrimcontinues to receive occasional updates, which means that although few players have encountered this issue, Bethesda may fix it before others see it for themselves.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
