An eagle-eyed Marvel fan has spotted a slight change toWandaVision. The Disney Plus series premiered in January 2021 and ran for 9-episodes before drawing to a close. The series featured Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, who reprised their roles of Wanda Maximoff and Vision. It was the first Marvel Studios series to premiere on the platform, opening the door for later seriesThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier,Loki,What If…?,Hawkeye, and Moon Knight.
The events ofWandaVisionare set shortly after the conclusion ofAvengers: Endgameand they focus on the impact of Vision’s death on Wanda. The series thrust viewers into the unfamiliar town of Westview and introduced a few new characters, including Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), Billy (Julian Hillard), and Tommy (Jett Klyne) Maximoff.WandaVisionis also credited with setting up the events ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

A Reddit user shared a new discovery that appears to show a slight change Marvel Studios made toWandaVision. Reddit userExuberantRaptorZetafound that in thesixth episode ofWandaVision, entitled “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!” the introductory character labels shortened Vision’s name to omit the “The” that originally preceded it. The Reddit user included screenshots of the original clip of the intro for theWandaVisionepisode as well as a current screengrab of the series’ intro. The images and current intro forWandaVision’s sixth episode confirm the Marvel fan’s findings, which they detail in their Reddit post.
Each episode ofWandaVisionpays homage to a different decade and sitcom from that era. “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!” focuses on the late 1990s and early 2000s, using an intro inspired byMalcolm in the Middlewhere the characters are introduced through a video camera montage. This apparent change in Vision’s name is likely due to the introduction of “The Vision” in the mid-credits ofWandaVision’seighth episode, “Previously On.” With two similar characters with drastically different histories, the distinction between the two is important.
“All-New Halloween Spooktacular!” revealed that Vision cannot leave The Hex surrounding Westview, or he’ll disintegrate. As a subconscious illusion Wanda created to cope with Vision’s death, the Vision Wanda had built her life with wasn’t physically real.“Previously On” further flippedWandaVisionon its head, revealing that the real Vision’s body had been preserved by S.W.O.R.D. and had been created into a weapon to serve the mission led by Hayward. This new, all-white version of Vision is regarded as “The Vision.”
The change in Vision’s introduction inWandaVision’s sixth episode may bode well for Vision’s MCU future. The distinction between Wanda’s illusion of him and “The Vision” may mean that the altered, all-white version of the hero will return in future MCU projects. The Vision was last seen abandoning Westviewafter a philosophical conversation with Westview’s Vision. If The Vision is seeking answers or biding his time to return to Wanda and potentially Billy and Tommy, what appears as a minuscule change could become significant.
WandaVisionis now available on Disney Plus.
