Iron Gate AB’sValheimhas yet to be released from early access, but that hasn’t stopped a community of over 17,000 players from regularly exploring the vast landscape of the survival game. OneValheimplayer was able to capture a battle to the death between a Troll and an Abomination in the Swamp biome during an adventure.
Reddit user ClandestineVegetable recently posted a clip of the fight between a Troll and Abomination that also shows a Black Forest biome blending into a swamp one which allows for the two powerful creatures to spawn so near each other. Trolls typically spawn inValheimBlack Forestsor Troll Caves, while Abominations are strictly limited to the Swamp biome, and they normally resemble tree stumps before detecting a threat. The clash between the two lasts over a minute as the beasts take turns hitting each other until only one is left to be defeated by theValheimplayer.

ClandestineVegetable’s video begins with theValheimplayer shielding themselves with a tree as they watch the Abomination battle the Troll, with the tree offering protection from debris that gets flung during the fight. When the Troll pauses its swings to pick up and throw a boulder at the Abomination, the Troll loses ground to the swamp creature as it pushes forward. After several standard swings and two powerful ones, the Abomination pushes the Troll further out of theValheim Swamp biomewhile knocking a tree over which normally does additional damage.
Although the Troll is equipped with a powerful club that usually knocks trees over on players, the Abomination’s attacks are much swifter which allows it to inflict the most damage in the fight. TheValheimTrollloses the rest of its health after roughly a dozen more strikes that follow the falling tree that rolled away from the conflict, making the Abomination victorious and showingValheimfans which of the two enemies is more powerful. ClandestineVegetable’sValheimvideo concludes as the player approaches the Abomination and before they finish it off, but given its low health after the Troll fight, it’s likely that the player killed it immediately.
Since posting their uniqueValheimclip, ClandestineVegetable confirmed that they used aCrystal Battleaxeto defeat the Abomination after it won the altercation with the Troll. OneValheimfan noted that the Troll hits for the same values whether they have a club equipped or not, causing another to express amazement that the Troll lasted as long as it did against the Abomination. According to multipleValheimplayers, the Abomination is successful against a Troll on this occasion because of its massive blunt damage compared to the damage Trolls can inflict.
