Summary
The first hotfix for the 1.0 full-release version ofV Risingis live with various bug fixes, including a solution for Rift Incursions not spawning on PvP servers. With a large amount of new content added toV Rising, bugs were expected. The quick release of the hotfix, as well as a list of known issues the team is working on, highlights the dedication to a proper functioning game for the community.
While some bugs are expected when new content is launched or mechanics are altered, being unable to play a title properly can be frustrating for new and veteran players. Hotfixes are typically released with a few updates as solutions to problems are discovered. This hotfix has adjustments for over a handful of issues that arose afterV Rising’s full release.

This is the first patch sinceV Rising’s 1.0 launch on May 8, which included multiple new features, as well as a new biome. The large issues addressed in the hotfix were PvP servers seeing Rift Incursions take over 24 hours to restart, players unable to mount horses when using a gamepad, and being unable to save setting changes after loading. These bugs would greatly impact the playability of the title, especially for veteran players looking to try out the new Ruins of Mortium content.
Other minor issues that were fixed in the patch include trees turning invisible, blocking them from being dismantled or growing to harvest size. Castle Relocation, which allows you to move your base without having tobuild a new Castle inV Rising, saw a resolution for problems surrounding flying roof tiles. Incorrect terrain rendering near bases when playing in PvP servers when disabled defenses were active has been addressed as well.
The list of known issues still notes the Wallpaper Fill crash problem, though a solution is included in 1.0 Hotfix 1. To avoid this issue, the dev team recommends not using the mechanic and instead manually putting up wallpaper. Multiple controller issues are still being investigated with no ETA announced. Those who are experiencing new glitches are encouraged to send in a ticket for the team to track.
While many of the issues weren’t extremely impactful acrossV Rising, the hotfix allows players to enjoy the game without glitches interrupting their immersion. Future updates on persistent problems, especially those forV Rising’s PvPservers, are sure to be forthcoming as the Stunlock Studios team continues to investigate various bug causes.
