Standing in the shadow of theFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeis Square Enix’s other remake,Trials of Mana, which continues to release pieces of information as its own release date creeps closer. As playersprepare to set foot in a brand new Midgardin April, Square Enix doesn’t want players to forget aboutTrials of Manaas the company has announced a demo will be available soon.

Trials of Manahas long been the missing piece of the puzzle in theManaseries for western audiences. Released on the Super Famicom asSeiken Densetsu 3at the tail end of the 16-bit era, the game never made it out of Japan, save for a fan translation that circulated the internet. Fans' first chance to experience the game officially came when the originalSeiken Densetsu 3was packaged inCollection of Manalast year. Now, players will get to experienceTrials of Manain 3D, and the demo offers a first taste of that action.

According to the official Japanese Twitter account forTrials of Mana, the demo will be available on March 18th, and will allow players to choose their own party combination to start the adventure. For those not yet up to speed on the game, players choose one of the six main characters to be the ‘lead’ character, following that character’s story arc; while two other chosen characters act as support to the lead. In addition to this freedom of choice, save data made in the demo will transfer over to the full version of the game as well, so if players choose to continue their journey, they won’t lose a step.

Theremake ofTrials of Manawill feature voice work, and much more effort is being put in to modernize the game compared to the tepidSecret of Manaremake Square Enix released in 2018. For a relatively small fan audience this remake has some lofty expectations to live up to, so Square Enix appears to be putting in the work to not haveTrials of Manafall flat on its face.

Fanshave been fed plenty of trailersto satiate their appetite for the game, and now will be their first opportunity to get their hands on it.

Trials of Manawill be released on April 24th on PC, PS4, and Switch.
