Thanks toThe Sims 4Wedding Stories Expansion Pack, players can now enjoy many new wedding-related activities. Currently,there are seven new events inThe Sims 4; Bach Party, Reception, Rehearsal Dinner, Engagement Dinner, Family Gathering, Wedding Ceremony, and Vows Renewal.
According toThe Sims 4description, an Engagement Dinner is a wedding event that’s held to celebrate the new engagement. This activity only appears in the events list if the two Sims are engaged, which means that if the couple is married or hasn’t proposed yet, the Engagement Dinner can’t be planned.

How To Set Up An Engagement Dinner In The Sims 4
Similar to otherThe Sims 4Event, an Engagement Dinner can be planned using two methods; thephoneand thecalendar. The phone starts the event immediately after all the planning steps are complete, whereas the calendar allows Simmers to choose a specific day and time, which makes it more flexible.
After choosing the desired method, click on Plan/Add Wedding Event, then select Engagement Dinner, which will cost 100$. After that, Simmers need to complete a few steps:
Invite Sims
This step requires players to fill up two Guests categories; Host and Guests.Contrary to other wedding-related events inThe Sims 4, the Engagement Dinner doesn’t have an Entertainer or a Mixologist category. Instead, they can be hired manually by clicking on a Microphone or a Bar.
The Host can be either one of the engaged Sims, while the Guests are the friends and family of the couple. A minimum of two Sims is needed to start the event.
Select Activities
While planning an Engagement Dinner, Simmers can choose as many activities as they want from the list. The six available activities are:
Select A Place
The final step is the location. Players need to pick a venue where they want the Engagement Dinner to be held. Although there are various options, Simmers can choose their house Lot as the location to make it special, especially ifit’s a unique build inThe Sims 4.
The calendar has an extra step, choosing time. Be careful not to choose any period from 12 AM to 5 AM, as it’s considered late inThe Sims 4. The Guests will come for a second then immediately return home. Any other changes or additions can be added later by editing the event using the Edit Event option from the calendar.
The Sims 4is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
