Naughty Dog has issued separate updates forThe Last of Us Part 1on PC and PlayStation 5, addressing feedback respective to each individual platform. Recent focus has obviously been on the newly launched PC port ofThe Last of Us Part 1, due to a significant amount of technical issues with the game. However, Naughty Dog is also continuing to robustly supportThe Last of Us Part 1on PlayStation 5. PS5 users can even expect some new cosmetics as part of the new update.
The Last of Us Part 1is an entirely remade version of the original action-adventure game. It wasfirst released in 2022 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. A PC port then followed on March 28. While a remastered version ofThe Last of Ushas already been made, Naughty Dog decided a more robustly featured version that took advantage of the PS5’s hardware was the correct path forward. How that vision turned into a technically-challenged PC port isn’t clear, but updates have been delivered rapidly since the port’s launch in late March.

The latest update forThe Last of Us Part 1on PC is very straightforward. Naughty Dog says that the patch makes improvements toThe Last of Us Part 1’s camera jitter when using a mouse and keyboard. This has been a heavy focus ofcriticism forThe Last of Us Part 1since launch. Obviously, PC players are more often than not going to want to use a mouse and keyboard for controls. This update will hopefully take care of the issue entirely.
The PS5 update forThe Last of Us Part 1is much larger. Patch 1.03 features over 50 improvements and fixes, as well as new HBO in-game t-shirt cosmetics for Ellie. Improvements include expanding aim sensitivity from 1-10 to 1-100, hitscan for rifle weapons, and “numerous visual improvements” across the game. Bug fixes include preventing infected from entering a “beg for life” state,Joel’s brother Tommyleading the player more consistently during the Prologue chapter, and baseball bats doing lower damage against clickers.
As for the cosmetics added to the game, Naughty Dog’s Twitter account revealed two new t-shirts for Ellie. The first is aMortal Kombat 2logo t-shirt and the second is forThe Wire. The logo is notably for theMortal Kombat 2video game, not theMortal Kombat Annihilationfilm. Nevertheless, HBO does have Mortal Kombat films streaming on Max, so that may be the connection.
Updates for the PC version ofThe Last of Us Part 1will continue to roll out asNaughty Dog and its partner Iron Galaxyfinish them. Naughty Dog says that it continues to monitor player reports and feedback. Future updates will continue to focus on optimization, game stability, and fixes. As is clear from today’s PS5 update, Naughty Dog will also continue supporting the console version of the game.
The Last of Us Part I v1.0.2.1 Patch Notes for PC
A patch for The Last of Us Part I is now live.
This update includes a highly requested improvement for the camera jitter experienced by players who use mouse and keyboard.
