As many will have surely noticed in the year since release,The Last of Us 2fan art is plentiful. Several different artists have offered their take on the characters and world ofThe Last of Us 2, and posters have become one of the most common ways to show some love for the game.
WhileThe Last of Us 2postersoften focus on several characters and capture a number of different moments, the latest poster to get some love on the game’s subreddit narrows its focus. Redditor oliveira_mte makes an image centered completely around Ellie and Dina, placing no other characters around the couple. Given how crucial their relationship is to the overall narrative of the game, giving them so much attention makes perfect sense.

In the poster, two very different shots ofEllie and Dinaare used. Ellie looks furious, with a zoomed-out version ofThe Last of Us 2’s cover art being utilized. As for Dina, she looks significantly calmer, standing straight up with a focused expression on her face. This is an excellent way for the artist to capture how each character behaves throughout the game’s story. While Ellie is obsessed with revenge and extremely angry, Dina is coming along purely because she loves Ellie. As such, she can keep a level head in situations where her girlfriend cannot.
Outside of the two characters, olivera_mte’s artwork features some nice details. In the bottom right corner, a Firefly pendant can be seen, a nod to the group that had such a massive impact on Ellie’s life.The Last of Us 2’s logo sits in the top right corner, while apage from Ellie’s journalis found in the upper left portion of the image. The page in question focuses on Ellie being unable to remember Joel’s face, one of the saddest and most memorable pages from the entire game.
Another detail sees the lyrics from “Through the Valley” in the bottom left corner, which is thesong that Ellie performedinThe Last of Us 2’s reveal trailer. While the grey variant of the poster is beautifully done, and would have been more than enough to show off online, oliveira_mte went above and beyond. A second version of the poster was included, with the characters, background, and minor details being given some extra color. As of now, the post has around 200 upvotes and a handful of positive comments, with it deserving all the praise it is getting and then some.
It will be interesting to see if moreThe Last of Us 2artworkis made by the Redditor. With other important pairings like Abby and Lev and Joel and Tommy able to be created, there is plenty of potential.
