Robert Pattinson and Colin Farrell are reportedly both heading back to Glasgow, Scotland for reshoots on the upcomingThe Batmanfilm, which is directed by Matt Reeves.The Batmanwill follow a younger and darker Bruce Wayne as he begins his journey as the notorious titular caped crusader.
Pattinson stars as the lead in the film, Bruce Wayne/Batman, and Colin Farrell will be playing Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin. So if both are heading back for reshoots, as Daily Record reports, then one can assume it’s a scene of importance if it requires both of them to be there. The film also stars Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman,Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon.

This telling ofThe Batmanis reportedly in its own universe, separate from the Zack SnyderJustice Leaguecontinuity. This looks to be a more gritty version than what fans are used to, with a heavy noire theme present throughout the film. Pattinson’s dark trench coat, long hair, and angry face were seen throughout the trailer, which makes the film feel moodier than what fans might anticipate. Even the Riddler has a new look and design that many aren’t familiar with. From the trailer, he sounds much more sinister, calculated, and surprisingly scary. This telling of the Riddler can potentially be the most compelling one yet as he feels less like a comic book character and more like an actual serial killer.
Director Reeves is known for making films that do well, so there’s much anticipation forthis new telling ofThe Batmanstory. Many think this will be the film that many were waiting for because it has all the ingredients a Batman film needs: mystery, scary villains, brutal combat, and a dark atmosphere.
Hopes are high for what this film can do and maybe beyond, especially after reports ofPattinson signing a first-look production deal with Warner Bros,an agreement that will have him on various roles for multiple films from the production company. At the same time, many are wary of this Batman getting replaced as well. Fans have seen this time and time again with Spider-Man, as the character has gone through different movie iterations in a relatively short period of time.
This will make for the third Batman in the same decade. Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Pattinson’s films aren’t far enough in years from each other. However, hope is still high that no matter what happens from here,The Batmanwill be a great watch at the end of the day.
