Starfield’s cross-save isa cloud-based progress-sharing featurethat allows simultaneous access to save files on Windows PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Players who buythe digital edition ofStarfieldwill be able to pick up where they left off thanks to the game’s ‘Play Anywhere’ capability.

Play Anywhere is an Xbox and Windows-exclusive perk that lets users transfer their in-game progression across several devices at no cost. In the case ofStarfield, this feature enables players to share the story or free-roam progress between Windows 10/11 PC and Xbox Series.

How to Use Cross-Save in Starfield

To activate cross-progression inStarfield,sign into the same Microsoft account on PC and Xbox. If the PC and Xbox accounts differ, add them as each other’s aliases in Microsoft settings. This will share all benefits and subscriptions between them, activatingStarfield’s cross-save for both devices.

Will Starfield Have Cross-Save on Steam?

Steam doesn’t support the ‘Play Anywhere’ feature ofStarfield. Therefore,Steam players won’t be able to share save filesbetween their PC client and Xbox console. The only workaround would bestreaming the game on a Steam Deckthrough Game Pass.
