Despite continuedcancellations ofStar Warsrelated projects,EA hopes to continue that trust with its upcoming gameStar Wars: Squadrons. Following the first official trailer for the game, players were able to see brand new screenshots on EA’s site. These new screenshots feature multiple looks at different pilots, various spacecraft, as well as small hints at what players can expect from the story.
According to EA,Star Wars Squadronswill feature a full campaign set after the events ofReturn of the Jedi. From the trailer and by looking at these screenshots, it seems this story will revolve around two pilots in particular that are constantly engaged in dogfights with one another. The game also features a5v5 multiplayer mode. Players will also be able to fully customize their ships with no microtransactions. The game has also been confirmed to support VR on both PS4 and PC with cross-play.

While many players are excited about the pitch ofStar Wars: Squadrons, there are many who are skeptical about the game’s offerings. EA has also announced the game will not be priced at $60 like most new titles, but will instead launch at abudget price point of $40. While many would wonder why that would raise suspicion, players are starting to wonder if this game may be more limited in scope than it would appear from the trailer. Perhaps the campaign is short or maybe the multiplayer offers a limited amount of maps. It seems like players will just have to wait for information when the game is shown at EA Play Live on June 18.
