With just a few days remaining until the release ofThe Mandalorian’ssecond season, different companies are rolling out new promotional materials. To jump in on the event, EA’s starfighter game,Star Wars: Squadrons, is adding a handful of cosmetics for players to earn that resemble characters and items seen throughoutThe Mandalorian.
EA announced today that players who strap intoStar Wars: Squadronslater this week will be able to earn in-game rewards that are pulled right out ofThe Mandalorianseries. Both factions, the New Republic and the Empire, will be able to earn one hologram, one decal, one dashboard flair, and one hanging flair to decorate the inside of their respective starfighters. Although, of the eight different items being added into the game forThe Mandaloriancelebration, the most sought after item may be the “Mysterious Creature” dashboard decoration, which is, of course, a small Baby Yoda toy.

EA mentioned in its information drop that the team is paying homage to the iconic character, which has become a mainstay talking piece in nerd culture circles, as well as spawning all kinds of memes last year. TheBaby Yodadashboard decoration features the character standing upright with its classic thousand-yard stare, and it’s holding onto the knob that it removed from the Mandalorian’s ship, the Razor Crest. Unfortunately for fans of the Empire, the Baby Yoda dashboard decoration is only available to the New Republic fleet of ships. The Imperial fighters will have to settle for the IG-Series Assassin Droid dashboard flair.
Bringing cosmetics fromThe MandaloriantoStar Wars: Squadronsmay seem like nothing but fan service at first, however, in theStar Warstimeline, these two narratives take place around the same time. Microsoft is also jumping in onThe Mandaloriancelebration as the video game juggernaut recently showed off a brand newMandalorianthemed Xbox One controller. The design of the controller resembles Mando’s silver Beskar armor and features dust accents to give it a battle-worn appearance. The controller comes complete with a magnetic charging stand that features a seal that features Mando’s helmet. The controller is available for pre-order now, however, this may be more for the controller collectors of the world, as the limited peripheral will cost fans a steep $159.99.
