Summary

Reddit user TMT-MrExcitement recently posted a lengthy message aboutStar Wars Battlefront Classic Collection’s bonus contenton r/pcgaming, stating that they believe that the compilation’s versions of Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress are not from the original Xbox version ofStar Wars Battlefront 2. Rather, it seems that Aspyr ripped the character models from an old mod fromModDBthat attempted to bring the Xbox-exclusive content to other platforms. This mod simply reskinned two existing characters as Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress, and TMT-MrExcitement pointed out that the latter seems to be holding two lightsabers like in the mod instead of the nunchuck-like saber she wields in the original DLC.

Battlefront Classic Collection’s Kit Fisto And Asajj Ventress Might Be From An Outdated Mod

To make matters worse, TMT-MrExcitement points out that the modStar Wars Battlefront Classic Collectionseems to draw fromis an outdated version, as the creator of said mod eventually updated it to more closely match the officialStar Wars Battlefront 2DLC. This creator, who goes by the handle of iamashaymin, recently spoke withIGNand said that they were made aware of the situation by friends and followers pointing it out to them. They have also reached out to Aspyr, but the developer has yet to respond as of this writing.

Aspyr has faced plenty of controversy over itsStar Warsgame ports in the past, such as its updated version ofKnights of the Old Republic 2ultimately releasingwithout the promised Restored Content Mod DLCand an earlier port ofStar Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academysuffering from matchmaking issues that caused veteran PC players to invade the console servers for easy matches against newcomers. This latest scandal surroundingStar Wars Battlefront Classic Collectionis yet another such story, assuming that these allegations of it using a fan-made mod are indeed true.
