Summary

The second season ofAndoron Disney+ is still a way’s off, but it looks like it will feature a returning favorite season 1 of theStar Warsseries. At least, that seems to be the case if a reportedly leaked cast list is to be believed.

Andorhas already confirmed the return of several characters in season 2, with presumably plenty of new faces set to join them. Given how the upcoming season will cover a much wider time frame than the first, it offers much more of an opportunity to introduce fresh characters who admittedly may not have all that much screen time. That includes old favorites joining up like Forest Whitaker’s Rebel extremist Saw Gerrera. ButAndorseason 1 also included another unexpected yet familiar face, and it looks like he may be back again for season 2.

A recent cast list found on Spotlight (viaThe Direct) now lists actor Duncan Pow for season 2 ofAndor. While the name might not sound familiar, his character should. Pow played Ruescott Melshi in bothAndorseason 1 as well asRogue One: A Star Wars Story. His first appearance inAndorwas a surprise to many, given how he seemed a rather minor character in the film. But it made sense and actually helped add some depth thanks to his now long-term friendship with Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor.

Melshi appeared during the show’s prison arc, where Cassian found himself unfairly shut in a high security facility before banding together with his fellow inmates for a memorable escape. Cassian and Melshi escaped together whileAndy Serkis' gruff and beloved Kino Loyseemed to stay behind on the ocean-based prison, giving a heartbreaking final line of “I can’t swim.”

Since Melshi was seen during the final battle on Scarif inRogue One, it would make sense that he’d be one of thecharacters set to show up in season 2 ofAndoreven before this leak came about. He and Cassian formed a bit of a bond when they escaped, sticking together for a while until they were able to get off world and back to Niamos where Cassian was when he was initially arrested. It’ll surely be interesting to see what he’s been up to since they split up.

The presence of this particular character may point to the focus ofAndorseason 2, which will likely revolve around Cassian’s time in the Rebel Alliance through the years leading up toRogue One. Now to speculate onwho else fromRogue Onemight show up.
