[UPDATE: Sony has deleted the tweet regarding Bloodborne. What this could potentially mean is unknown. We have replaced the embedded tweet, which was no longer accessible, with a screenshot of the post. Original story follows.]

Sony has made an odd social media post regardingBloodborne, with many hoping that the company is teasing some form of announcement. As many know, this title remains one of FromSoftware’s most popular titles, which is saying something givenElden Ring’s success, butSony owns the IP rights toBloodborne. This means Sony could do something, theoretically speaking, without FromSoftware, but at the same time, the company may not want to.

Bloodbornetrends online every few weeks, often to no comment from Sony or FromSoftware. Given the oddity of the post too, it’s hard not to see this as something special.

The post is pretty simple, as seen below. Sony asked if fans can see it and asked if they knew what PlayStation cover the company was zooming in on. It’s immediately obvious that it’sBloodbornefrom the Hunter’s cap, but why make the post is the question everyone is asking. DespiteBloodborne’s popularity, it has never received a sequel, has not been ported to PC, or has never been upgraded for PS5 consoles. The sequel is unlikely, but the other two are not out of the question.

After all, many Sony titles have been making the jump toPC like theMarvel’s Spider-Mangames, while even more than that have received quality and performance upgrades for the PS5. Games likeThe Last of Ushave even been rebuilt for it. Hopefully, this means something, but fans should keep their expectations in check. It’s not certain if Sony is saying anything is happening withBloodborneat all or just making a random social media post.

One insider recently claimed that nothing was happening withBloodborne, as FromSoftware is busy working onElden Ringsupport and potentially DLC. It should also be noted that noBloodborneproject was seemingly listed on the leaked documents that contained theHorizon Zero Dawnremake/remaster (which, as of this writing, remains unconfirmed). It’s easy to hope though, and the timing of this post is just as curious as the post itself.

Recent rumors suggest thatSony has canceled its PlayStation Showcaseso as to not strengthen Microsoft’s argument to regulators regarding its Activision Blizzard King acquisition. Supposedly, the slew of recent reveals like theSilent Hilltransmission, theFinal Fantasy 16trailer, the Hideo Kojima Elle Fanning tease, and the upcomingResident Evil showcase were all originally part of the PS Showcase. If so, then it would be easy enough to see this potentialBloodbornetease through the same lens, and if something is happening with the popular IP, fans will no doubt be excited when/if they learn more.

Bloodborneis available on PS4.
