The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis a massive open world game, and as a result, it’s prone to the occasional bug or technical issue. Sometimes theseSkyrimglitches are frustrating and game-breaking, but other times they are benign and silly. A recentSkyrimglitch that’s been getting attention on the game’s subreddit falls into the latter category, as a player was relentlessly pursued across the map by a teleporting dead dragon.
Reddit user Lapsos_de_Lucidez posted images of adeadSkyrimdragonthat allegedly had been following them around the map. According to the post, the dead dragon teleports behind the Dragonborn whenever it gets outs of sight. Apparently the dragon was first killed about a month ago, though problems were apparent right off the bat as theSkyrimplayer was unable to absorb the dragon’s soul like they normally would.

Lapsos_de_Lucidez is not the onlySkyrimplayer who has been tormented by a teleporting dead dragon. This is a problem that has been going on inSkyrimfor years, to the point where aSkyrimmodexists to fix the issue. The community refers to the phenomenon as “Dragon Stalking” whenever it happens. Unfortunately, this particularSkyrimmod is only available for the PC version of the game, so console gamers are out of luck if they run into the issue. They’ll just have to learn to live with their new dragon companion or hope that it eventually goes away. Clickhereto see the full Reddit post.
Skyrimplayersdon’t seem to know how to replicate the glitch, which means that fans don’t know what not to do if they want to avoid being haunted by a dead dragon in their own save. The best bet would be to make sure one always has multipleSkyrimsaves handy so they can revert to an older one if the glitch shows up, though having multiple saves is something everySkyrimplayer should do as there are many other glitches in the game besides this one.
And as previously mentioned, the otherSkyrimglitches can cause game-breaking issues. There are many bugs that can lock players out ofSkyrim’s Daedric questsfor instance, which can be especially frustrating as the rewards players get from those quests are usually quite good and there’s an achievement for collecting 15 Daedric artifacts in a single playthrough of the game.
ThenextElder Scrollsgamewill have glitches of its own for players to contend with, though it remains to be seen if this particular glitch will return, or if dragons will be in the new game at all, even. Bethesda is focused onStarfieldright now, but it will be interesting to see what formThe Elder Scrolls 6takes whenever it’s finally shown off to the world.
