In the midst of one of the game’s many side quests, aSkyrimplayer encounters a bug that leaves them stranded hundreds of feet in the air while they defend themselves against a dragon. By now, many would assume that people would have moved on from Bethesda’s 2011 epic RPG, but with so manydifferent ways to playThe Elder Scrolls 5, not to mention all the fan mods that keep coming out, the exploits of the Dragonborn continue to crop up in conversation.
Anyone who’s played the game knows theimportance of dragons inSkyrim. Not just mighty winged beasts that swoop overhead, they form a major part of the game’s story. Many fans will remember their first encounter with one and how they felt when they realized they had to bring one down. They are majestic beasts, but they often turn up at the most inconvenient moments, as one player discovered.

In a recent post on Reddit, user TrevortheBatman shows that a dragon can turn up just about anywhere and at any time during aSkyrimplaythrough. A brief clip shows the player being attacked by one of the creatures, but not while on the ground. This incident occurs at the start of the conversation with Meridia, at the start of a new side quest, during which the Dragonborn is lifted high into the air. However, that didn’t seem to deter the flying scaly beast, which decided that right then was the perfect opportunity to begin an altercation, which meant TrevortheBatman had to fight the dragon while floating in the air.
The quest involving Meridia is considered by many to be one of themost frustrating missions inSkyrim. During travels across the land, the Dragonborn can happen upon an item in a chest called Meridia’s Beacon. However, unbeknownst to those who are new to the game, when it’s picked up, the side quest will automatically begin. While the player can ignore the call to attend the Statue of Meridia, it does feel like players were tricked into picking up the beacon. However, what would be even more annoying is having to fight a dragon in midair while starting the mission.
TES5is known for its many glitches, many of which are generally harmless or even amusing. However, despite its notoriety in the gaming community, it’s still considered one of thegreatest single-player gamesin recent memory. Even those who aren’t a fan of it can’t deny how enormously successful it’s become, even if it does have its faults.
