Disenchant Items
All enchanting is done at enchantment tables. These are placed all throughoutSkyrim.Simply walk up and press on one to begin. A convenient enchantment table is located at the Dragonsreach Castle in Whiterun. It is placed right nextto an alchemy tablein Farengar’s workspace. Players can quickly fast travel to the Dragonsreach once they’ve made it there towards the beginning of the game. Activating the table will open the menu. This is where players can enchant items by combining an item, an enchantment, and a soul gem. If players have any items that are enchanted they will see the Disenchant tab. Move to that tab to view items. Click on them to disenchant the item.
Be wary as this willpermanently destroy the item.The chosen enchantment will then be added to the enchantment tab in the menu. Players can scroll down to view all the enchantments they have learned. It’s useful to learn as many as possible to craft powerful items to use orsell for large amounts of gold.
Enchanting Tips
If players already have the chosen enchantment the item will be grayed out in the disenchant menu. The higher-strength enchantments will not necessarily retain their effect. The power of the enchantment is instead tied to the Dragonborn’s skill level. As players level up this skill there are many perks they can acquire to make these effects more powerful. Damage effects can’t be applied to armor but can be applied to weaponry. Similarly, fortifying effects can only be placed on armor. Thenumber of charges a weaponhas is tied to soul gems and can be adjusted when enchanting the weapon. Players need to unlock the Arcane Smithing perk to improve enchanted items further.
