Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreehas a lot of new weapons for the player to experiment and play around with. One of them is theShadow Sunflower Blossom, a colossal weapon that players can get from theRemembrance of the Shadow Sunflower.
It doesn’t have particularly standout damage, but it’s ash of war will leave an impression on your opponent and cement your supremacy as a sunflower enjoyer. The weapon deals a mixture of physical and holy damage, but the skill scales entirely with FAI.
Since the physical side of the weapon doesn’t have anythingdistinguishing it from other colossal weapons, you’ll want to focus on optimizing the build around spamming the ash of war,Shadow Sunflower Headbutt. It only costs 12 FP, and can be followed up twice for a meager 6 FP.
The weapon scales withSTR, DEX, and FAI, with strength and faith being the primary stats that players should focus on, and dexterity being a unfortunate requirement. Dump everything you have in faith to bring it to a respectable 80, then use the rest of your skill points tomatch the STR and DEX requirement, as well as get aserviceable health and stamina bar. You don’t need a lot of FP for this build since the cost is fairly low to begin with, having a little extra doesn’t hurt.At level 150, your stat spread should look something like this:

If you are planning to use it double handed, you can have the STR stat as low as 12, and invest the extra points in faith, vigor, or even endurance. The low strength requirement makes this weapon accessible even for primarily FAI builds.

The talisman choice for the Shadow Sunflower Blossom is fairly simple since you’re trying tomaximize the damage of the weapon skill. The Two-Headed Turtle Talisman will minimize stamina downtime, the Carian Filigreed Crest will reduce FP cost significantly, and the Shard of Alexander and Sacred Scorpion Charm will buff the total damage you may deal with this weapon significantly.
It doesn’t make a lot of sense to use theRotten Winged Sword Insigniasince you won’t get enough time to execute the full three part combo. There isn’t enough hyper armor on the attack, and the player remains completely static during it, making them an easy target. You should do one, or two if the enemy allows, attacks with the ash of war, use a strong attack if necessary, and then use the ash of war again when the opportunity arises.
Best Wondrous Physik Tears for Shadow Sunflower Blossom
Having the Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear is a no-brainer since it increases the player’s damage output, while the Opaline Hardtear will make enemies work to deal any significant amount of damage to your person. You can swap out the Opaline Hardtear withwhatever Crystal Tear that grabs your fancy, but the Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear is a must for any weapon that deals holy damage.
