Scorn, inspired by the Swiss artist H.R Giger, is a timed exclusive available to buy or as a day-one launch title on Xbox Game Pass. Despite its horrific setting, which includes Giger’s unique yet grotesque visuals of biological matter and machines,Scornis more of a walking simulator and a puzzle game with horror themes.

The game relies more on puzzles andenvironmental storytellingand lets the player discover the lore in their way.Scornisn’t a game for everyone, especially if one expected a horror game reminiscent ofDead Spaceor theAlienfranchise.Scornfeels more like an arthouse horror, with the atmosphere providing most of the chills and scares.
How Long To Beat Scorn
WhileScornmay be perfect as an Xbox Game Pass launch title, there is little justification for it as a full-priced game. It’s a linear experience, with no bonuses to collect or new-game plus to add replay value. It appears that how long it takes to beatScorndepends on a player’s skill level and experience with puzzle games. According tothe developer on Steam,Scornshould take approximately 6-8 hours to complete.
However, GameRant’s Reviewer only tookaround five hours to beatScorn. Moreover, the data from players of the Steam version of How Long To Beat reflects the five-hour mark to complete the game.
Is It Worth Chasing The Achievements In Scorn?
Thankfully,Scornis a short game, so achievement and trophy hunters won’t have to go to a great deal of effort in unlocking them. There’s only one achievement that may require a restart of the checkpoint in Act One to gain it, and that’s the second achievement calledHand in Hand. The remainder of the game’s achievements will unlock as part of the story.
