A release window for the highly anticipatedGrand Theft Auto 6has been shared by a prominent leaker. This past week has been incredibly active for theGrand Theft Autocommunity, and not in a good way. A leaker, now believed to be arrested, claimed to have hacked Rockstar Games and stolen the source code forGrand Theft Auto 6,Grand Theft Auto 5, and other Rockstar projects. A leaked release window may be incomparable in terms of impact, but if true is nevertheless quite shocking.By no means is this the first leaked release window forGrand Theft Auto 6, of course. There have been any number of content creators, insiders, and leakers, who have claimedGrand Theft Auto 6will be released anywhere between 2023 and the end of the century. For example, a reputable leaker said in May 2021 thatGrand Theft Auto 6would launch in late 2023. Obviously, not every leak can be accurate, but some leaks are worth sharing based on past reliability.RELATED:Grand Theft Auto 6 Hacker Reportedly ArrestedThis latest leak comes from Adrien Perea, who says thatGrand Theft Auto 6is set to release in 2025. He followed that up by saying, “It’s no brainer, just here to confirm it.” This would beone of the latest release windows forGrand Theft Auto 6claimed through leaks so far.
Past leaks from Perea include confirmed information likeForspoken’s delay into January 2023,Skull and Bonesrelease date in November,Cyberpunk 2077’s 1.6 update. In addition, their unconfirmed leaks includeRockstar’s cancelation ofGrand Theft Auto 4andRed Dead Redemptionremasters,Ghost of Tsushimafor PC, and much more. Suffice it to say, their leaks so far are very reliable, but it also hasn’t been long enough for all of their reports to be proven true or false.
2025 makes significantly more sense as a release window forGrand Theft Auto 6than some other leaks. For one, by 2025 both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles will almost certainly be widely available and spread into tens of millions of homes. Another way to look at it would be Rockstar trying to recaptureGrand Theft Auto 5’s release success. Second, it’s far enough out that it doesn’t step onGrand Theft Auto Online’s continued success. Plus there’s the fact that it’s going to be a massive game and needs as much development time as it can get.
There’s absolutely no way to confirm Perea’s leakedGrand Theft Auto 6release window at this point in time. If they’re correct, there won’t be confirmation for potentially years yet, either. AllGrand Theft Autofans can do is wait patiently, and maybe watch thoseleakedGrand Theft Auto 6development clipsover again.
