This game design decision was made to respect Native tradition, as several tribes believe whistling at night brings bad omen. On top of not being able to whistle, Morgan cannot use his weapons in the Wapiti reservation, the only Native American settlement inRed Dead Redemption 2.
This interesting detail is not the first one noticed by theRed Dead Redemption 2community. Rockstar Games added various elements to increase the realism of its action-adventure game to improve the immersion for players roaming around its fictional open-world version of the Wild West. Meanwhile, new shreds of evidence hint at aremaster ofRed Dead Redemption, which would allow players to rediscover the original game in the series after it was removed from the PS Now streaming service and making it unavailable on the PS4 and PS5.
