While evolution stones have existed since the first generation, the Shiny Stone was not introduced until the Sinnoh region.
Due to not existing until theDiamond and Pearlgeneration, Shiny Stones evolve less Pokemon than the Fire, Water, and Leaf Stones fromthe first generation of games. In fact, there are only four Pokemon out of the total of 898 that a Shiny Stone can be used on. Unlike Fire, Water, and Leaf Stones, Shiny Stones do not prioritize a certain Pokemon type. The Pokemon it is usable on range from Grass, Poison, Flying, Normal and Fairy-type.

ForSword and Shieldplayers, finding the Pokemon that can use a Shiny Stone is a more difficult challenge than finding the stone itself. There are places where players are bound to catch what they are looking for, or they can try their luck with Dynamax Raids.
Updated on July 22nd, 2021 by Allison Stalberg:Finding the four Pokemon that evolve via Shiny Stone without a guide is like finding a needle in a haystack, even with the process of elimination. Even if one does know which Pokemon evolves with which stone, it is a whole other matter to find out where to get the stone and whether the Pokemon is even obtainable in Sword and Shield. This information is a must for anyone that wants to complete their Pokedex. Even if the Pokedex does not matter to a player, some of these Pokemon may be favorites that they would want to evolve.

Where To Find Shiny Stones
4Togetic To Togekiss
This evolution line can be a pain for beginner Pokemon players to evolve. The first form is Togepi, and it can only be evolved throughfriendship. Then players will have thesecond stage evolution, Togetic, that can only be evolved with a Shiny Stone to become a Togekiss. Prior to theX and Ygames, this evolution line was Normal-type. Since that generation though, it is Fairy-type. In fact, there is no other Pokemon out there with Togetic and Togekiss’s type combination of Fairy and Flying.

Where To Catch Togepi and Togetic
In theSword and Shieldgames, the entire evolution line is a bit difficult to capture.
Togepi can be found in theBridge Fieldbetween levels 26 and 28. In normal or overcast weather though, they have only a two percent spawn rate. Infog, they have a five percent chance. Remember, a Togepi will need to evolve to Togetic usingfriendship.

Togetic can only be found in theStony Wilderness during foggy weather, and only has a10 percent spawn rate. Additionally, it canonly be found randomly in the tall grass, not ever as an overworld spawn. That is the only way to get a Togetic in the wild. Of course, players can evolve it from Togepi but that does take friendship points instead of leveling which can be a challenge.
3Roselia To Roserade
Part Grassand part Poison-type,Roselia is a little Pokemonthat has been a part of the games since the third generation. However, its evolution, Roserade, was not introduced until generation four. It actually has a lot in common with Togetic, as it is a second-stage Pokemon in a three-stage evolution line. Also like Togetic, its first stage form, Budew, only evolves into Roselia through friendship (and only during the day). Then a Shiny Stone is needed to turn Roselia into Roserade.

Where To Catch Budew And Roselia
Budew’s highest spawn rate is 35 percent in theRolling FieldsandDappled Grove. In the Rolling Fields, they will be between level seven and nine and only appear inovercastweather. In the Dappled Grove, they will be between levels 11 and 15 and have their highest spawn rate innormal weather.
Catching Roselia in theSword and Shieldgames is a weather-dependent journey. For the highest spawn rate, players should seek Roselia out atAxew’s Eye during overcast weather.Spawn rates there are at 40 percent and the Roselia there are only foundrandomly in the tall grass, not overworld. In that location, they are between levels 35 and 40.
2Minccino To Cinccino
This adorable Normal-type Pokemon was introduced in theBlack and Whitegeneration. Unlike Togetic and Roselia’s evolution lines, it only has two stages. Its design is based on a real rodent, the chinchilla, and was made by Atsuko Nishida, the same woman who designed Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

1Floette To Florges
Roselia is not the only flower-inspired Pokemon to use a Shiny Stone. Introduced in theX and Ygames, Floette is apure Fairy-type Pokemon(though it can easily be confused with a Grass-type). Its evolution line has three stages, starting with Flabebe. Once Flabebe reaches level 19, it becomes a Floette. Only with a Shiny Stone can it become its final stage, Florges. The Pokemon also comes in five different colors: yellow, red, orange, blue, and white. The colors are merely aesthetical differences and change nothing else about the Pokemon.

Where To Catch Florges
Floette and its evolution line areunobtainable in theSword and Shieldgamesand were not added in the DLC expansions. Players can keep them inPokemon Home, but will not be able to transfer them to the game. Hopefully, future games will give this evolution line its comeback. For now, though, players can save their Shiny Stones for other Pokemon.
