APokemon Black and Whitefan that’s preparing for the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violethas designed Gen 5 sprites for Bellibolt and Iono in aPokemonbattle against the trainer from Gen 5. Gen 5 kicked off withPokemon Black and Whiteback in 2010, and as the sequel and generations have rolled on over the years, many fans remained dedicated, even those anticipatingPokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Reddit user R3dd1t_D4v1d recently posted a brief video of their Gen 5 sprites of Bellibolt and Iono entering a Pokemonbattle, with appropriate animations that highlight their personalities teased in a trailer uploaded to the officialPokemonchannel last week. This trailer revealed Iono as theElectric-type Gym leaderofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, and outside of her battling career, she’s also a popular Paldean livestreamer. Along with the Bellibolt shown off in the promotion forPokemon Scarlet and Violetwere a pair of unique Magnemite with one being pink and the other being blue, which may reflect the positive and negative charges from an electrical current.

R3dd1t_D4v1d’s short clip begins with thePokemontrainer from Gen 5 known as Hilbert standing alongside the Fighting-type Mienfoo in a battle againstPokemon Scarlet and VioletGym leader Iono. Portraying the same personality teased in her reveal trailer, Iono enters the Gen 5 battle screen by extending her arms and tapping her feet to a rhythm that her blue and pink Magnemites react to as well. In front of the Electric-type Gym leader is a very large Bellibolt, which stomps its right foot down three times before charging some electricity in the small circle on its stomach in preparation for the Gen 5-style battle.

Just like inPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Victory Road path, the Gen 5Pokemontrainer of R3dd1t_D4v1d’s art would have to overcome Bellibolt and presumably a couple more Pokemon to acquire a lower resolution version of the Electric badge of Gen 9. R3dd1t_D4v1d isn’t the firstPokemonfan artist to take a classic approach to more modern games with a demake as another fan art has depicted thePokemon Scarlet and Violetstarters as Gen 2 sprites. BecausePokemon Diamond and Pearlhave seen re-releases on the Nintendo Switch, many Gen 5 fans like R3dd1t_D4v1d are clambering for a modern take onPokemon Black and White.

Although manyPokemonfans are hoping for word onaPokemon Black and Whiteremake like the one experienced byPokemon Diamond and Pearl, Nintendo has yet to hint at when that might happen. A number ofPokemon Scarlet and Violetfans took to R3dd1t_D4v1d’s post to voice their appreciation for the clip by upvoting it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release for Nintendo Switch on November 18.
