Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwere officially launched on Nintendo Switch on June 27, 2025. However, within hours of the release, social media was bombarded with complaints. One particular animation - that of a character eating a sandwich - was particularly panned for being unimpressive and unrealistic. The current animation looks like something that was done in a hurry, and it doesn’t look very good.

Players and critics were definitely expecting better from the multi-billion dollarPokemonfranchise. Some players have even gone so far as to create their own fan-made animations of the scene in an attempt to show just how poor the official one is. Some gamers posted animations of Pokemon eating curry inPokemon Sword and Shieldand Pokemon eating sandwiches inPokemon Scarlet and Violetside by side to show that even the older game’s animations looked better. A fewplayers have also reported glitchesand that the older Nintendo Switch models are struggling to handlePokemon Scarlet and Violet.

It’s a shame that instead of talking about the vast new open world, new vibrant characters, and adorable starter designs ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, many players are talking about how the game disappointed them. Game Freak may want to focus onfixing the reported issues, especially those related to graphics and animations, as soon as possible.
