AsPokemonturns yet another year older, Game Freak has come prepared with all sorts of news that’s sure to make almost everyPokemonfan happy. This past week has been filled with announcements regarding newcontent forPokemon Masters EX, special raids forSwordandShield, and more. Despite that, more announcements came out of a quickPokemonPresents on the day of its anniversary itself, including information on a free content update forPokemon Legends: Arceus.

OncePokemon Legends: Arceuslaunched, many fans and critics alike have found themselves immersed in the title, enjoying catching Pokemon across Hisui and exploring the history of what would become the Sinnoh region. However, this led to many of the game’s early adopters beating the game relatively fast, which sparked a desire to see further content in the form of DLC.

While there has yet to beDLC plans forPokemon Legends: Arceus, aPokemonDay presentation has revealed a free content update that has now gone live for all players. It adds a handful of new features for the post-game, such as new requests and the Massive Mass Outbreaks which spawn hordes of Alpha Pokemon.

Alongside these updates, players can obtain a huge amount of free Poke Balls specifically to celebrate Pokemon Day by using the code “ARCEUSADVENTURE” through Mystery Gift. This will give fans 30 Ultra Balls, Gigaton Balls, and Jet Balls for a total of 90 Poke Balls that are sure to come in handy with the new Massive Mass Outbreaks.

It should be noted by fans that almost everything found in the Daybreak update is specifically locked after completing the main parts of the game, like the Eternal Battle Reverie mode only being available once players have cleared every in-game request. Even a harder mode to the new Training Grounds battles requires completing a portion of the Daybreak update itself. The content is most definitely made to keep those wanting more still engaged and playing, while also making sure toadd toPokemon Legends: Arceus’replayability.

The announcement of this update leaves a question to be asked on ifPokemon Legends: Arceuswill even have DLC at all, as the update is rather curiously given a name where other titles such asAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsnever named their updates. There may be a chance that instead of adding content through DLC,Pokemon Legends: Arceuswill take a gradual update approach similar toAC:NH. For now, fans will simply need to wait and see while working towards beating the new content in the meantime. For those curious, the full patch notes can be found below.
