Of all the rewards that can be earned by completing Crackling Voltage Field Research tasks, the Emolga encounter is perhaps the most exciting. That said, players can also earn the Sky Squirrel from aJanuary 2023 Field Research task inPokemon GOthat centers around making Excellent Throws. Fans that are interested in catching Emolga should thus not feel beholden to walking 3km, as there is another opportunity available to them.
Players that are low on Stardust should also not feel as though they must complete the task that instructs them to power up Pokemon five times, as there are other ways to encounter Helioptile during Crackling Voltage. Specifically, thisElectric-type Pokemoncan be found in 1-Star Raids and hatched from 7km eggs for the duration of the event, and it actually has an increased chance to be Shiny when encountered in those two ways.
Speaking of Shinies, the majority of the Pokemon that are awarded by the Crackling Voltage Field Research can take that special form. The exceptions are Hisuian Voltorb and Emolga, as Shiny versions of those two Pokemon are simply not available inPokemon GOat the time of writing.
To note,PoGO’s Crackling Voltage eventis set to conclude on Sunday, February 5 at 11:59pm local time. Players that are interested in some of the event’s Field Research rewards are thus advised to make some time in the upcoming days for spinning PokeStops and completing tasks.
These fans may also want to give the Team GO Rocket Takeover some attention during that timeframe. For the uninitiated, this event is set to begin on Wednesday, February 1, and it will conclude at the same time as the Crackling Voltage event. As its name suggest, the event will focus onPokemon GO’s Team GO Rocket, and it will feature a Special Research story about Giovanni.
