Summary

APokemonfan has recently created a new evolution for the Seel evolutionary line. ThePokemoncommunity is very creative with fan art, and this fan devised an amazing artwork that stands out due to its quality and originality.

Both Seel and its evolution Dewgong originally appeared inthe first generation ofPokemongames. Inspired by a seal, the Water-type Seel evolves into the Water/Ice-type Dewgong at Level 34. However, these creatures do not have any official third form, and onePokemonfan decided to change that with fan art.

APokemonfan artist called EliDwebster recently devised Gnawhal, a Ghost/Ice-type evolution for Seel and Dewgong. The fan even made stats for the Fakemon, giving it the Thick Fat, Adaptability, and Ice Body abilities. The new creature can only be acquired by using the Cold Prowl move 15 times with Dewgong. Overall, the style of EliDwebster’s new fan art piece is interesting because it still keeps the appearance of being a seal, while it introduces some new elements, such as blue colors, an absurdly long horn, and what seems to be a diving mask.

New Evolution for Seel Evolutionary Line

This is not the first time aPokemonfan has created anew evolution for Dewgong, though. A few months ago, another fan devised Nawaled, a completely different take on a third form for the Seel evolutionary line. In this form, the beast looks more like a real-life seal, having more well-defined fins, and a horn that resembles the one of a unicorn. According to the fan, they were inspired by the iconicDigimonGabumon when imagining the design.

New evolutions are not everything that fans come up with when designing new forms for Dewgong. Last year, an artist devised apast Paradox form for Dewgong called Boreal Tusk. This was a pretty neat Ice/Ghost-type form that transformed the creature into a huge aquatic ghost with a giant horn, glowing eyes, and menacing claws.

While these are fairly conventional takes on the Gen 1 creature, some other fans are even more wild with their ideas for reimagining classic Pokemon. For instance, afan tried to turn every Gen 1 Pokemon into the same creaturelast year, achieving an uncanny result. It’s likely thatPokemonfans will keep coming up with innovative ideas for new takes on classic monsters, especially as more games such as the eagerly awaitedPokemon Legends: Z-Awill be released next year, and it may give fans even more ideas.
