As detailed on Nintendo’s support site, Version 1.0.2 ofPikmin 4mostly deals with bug fixes. Various glitches existed within the game, which would cause treasures to disappear upon rewinding time, dialogue breaks while talking to castaways, and characters to disappear from the Rescue Command Post. Another bug would arbitrarily decide whether players had enough Glow Sap for treatment even if they truly did. All of these have been patched out as of this update, and Nintendo specified that this update would also applyto thePikmin 4demo.
Other glitches that needed a fix include one that would allow players toexpand their Pikmin army to absurd degrees, one that kept the screen dark after skipping cutscenes, one that would stop certain treasures from getting transported, and various other bugs that Nintendo didn’t specify. Finally, a progress bar was added to all in-game loading screens, allowing players to estimate when to pick their controllers up again. It was also noted that players who boughtPikmin 4digitally can shorten the load times by moving the game to internal storage.
Pikmin 4is commonly hailed as a near-perfect title and the best installment in thePikminseries thus far. As such, fans will surely appreciate the bug fixes that come with this update, improving the gameplay experience for players of all stripes and turning an already beloved game even more perfect.
