How Many Dinosaurs Are In Farming Sim Paleo Pines

Paleo Pineslooks to offer players a promising range of dinosaur species and varieties to discover and befriend as they explore the island.Paleo Pines' recent demo showed off 13 species ofdinosaurs for players to tame, such as the Triceratops, while the demo website currently teases about 30 different ones. When asked how many dinosaurs are inPaleo Pines, Roussakoff revealed there are 38 species in total.

However, the dinosaurs also have many different color and pattern variations, as well as rare varieties. She added two varieties “that every dinosaur has that isn’t ultra-rare is melanistic and albino, which of course are based on real-life things,” albeit “Not every dino has every color.”

There is also the possibility that more species could be added after launch. When discussing future plans forPaleo Pines, Roussakoff revealed the team would love to add “aquatic dinos” and a “swamp area.” She also mentioned the team has also discussed various flying species; the potential for more also seems pretty massive when considering how much could be inspired by thescience of dinosaurswhen paired with human imagination. While Roussakoff stated the studio worked with a paleontologist advisor, she also added some of the science is still speculative. This could potentially give Italic Pig much creative freedom to create even more dinosaurs and variants, especially if the community has particular preferences.

Different Dinosaur Abilities In Paleo Pines

When asking about dinosaur abilities inPaleo Pines, Roussakoff explained some, like the companion Lucky, are steeds, while others might be ‘“small dinos” with “other abilities.” InPaleo Pines, steeds are a type ofvideo game mountthat players can utilize to navigate the world as one would guess, but they can also unlock more of the island and perform other various handy activities. While steeds can enhance farming activities like watering or harvesting crops faster, Roussakoff further explained how their abilities help the player,

Steeds have different abilities on the farm, but they also have abilities in the wild. Part of those are things like smashing rocks. The Triceratops and the Styracosaurus smash boulders, so they can clear the various places on the island. We’ve got dinosaurs that can clear logs that have fallen over, dinosaurs that can clear bushes that have this cottony stuff growing on it. As you do that, you collect fiber, wood, and stone, so it kind of is a multifunctional thing. You can continue exploring the environment with them and continue collecting these resources.

Collectively, it seems that players not only have the opportunity to meet and befriend numerous species of varieties of dinosaurs but also discover what different dinosaurs can do in what looks to be a heartwarming andcomforting farm sim. It’s also worth noting that as players level up their friendship with dinosaurs, they can unlock additional dinosaur helper abilities for ranching, so there are likely even more abilities to uncover, especially when players meet them all.

Paleo Pinesreleases for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on September 26.
