Summary
Overwatch 2’s Season 10 is packed with updates, including, but not limited to, a new DPS hero, a revamped Mythic skin system, and a dedicated shop. However, this focus on Season 10 is likely far from accidental. With rumors swirling about thecancelation ofOverwatch 2’s future PvE plans, it seems Blizzard is doubling down on the PvP side of the game. After introducing a highly-anticipated Mercy mythic skin and fresh patch notes, it appears Team 4 is doing everything in its power to improve the shooter.
Overwatch 2’s tenth season is a noteworthy divergence from previous seasons. In addition to adding a wealth of new content at the beginning of each season, this season has implemented significant modifications to competitive play’s grouping restrictions. More interestingly, Blizzard appears to be finally addressing players' concerns by including a Brigitte skin within the battle pass.

Overwatch 2’s Tenth Season is Leaving No Stone Unturned
Brigitte’s Battle Pass Skin May Be a Positive Sign For the Future
SinceOverwatch 2launched in October 2022, heroes like Mercy, Widowmaker, and Kiriko have consistently received skins every season. For instance, though Kiriko debuted with the release of the sequel, she’s already garnered at least 20 skinsin ten seasons, not including Overwatch League and Contenders cosmetics. This trend has led fans to question the underrepresentation of other characters, particularly Zarya, Baptiste, and Brigitte.
Fortunately, after nine seasons of seemingly being neglected, Brigitte mains are rejoicing over the fact that the Swedish support hero has finally received a skin in the battle pass. Not only has she received related sprays, souvenirs, and name cards, but her newest cosmetic is directly related to theMirrorwatch theme of Season 10. While some have disappointedly pointed out that the “Talon Brigitte” skin is only an epic, others are hoping this is an indication that Blizzard will be giving her more attention in the coming seasons.

Overwatch 2’s Progress Shouldn’t Stop With Season 10
The timing of new features like the Clash Mode trial and theconveniently-timed Mercy Mythic skinmight raise eyebrows, potentially suggesting a strategic release to keep players engaged. However, regardless of the motivation, introducing unique experiences like these ultimately benefits players. After all, being able to test upcoming features ahead of time, like Venture’s brief debut in Season 9, is a surefire way to generate excitement among the community while also guaranteeing valuable player feedback for Blizzard.
While some have disappointedly pointed out that the ‘Talon Brigitte’ skin is only an epic, others are hoping this is an indication that Blizzard will be giving her more attention in the coming seasons.
It’s clear that the game’s momentum shouldn’t become stagnant after its tenth season. Coming off the high of a collaboration withCowboy Bebop, a fresh battle pass, and a new hero, Team 4 will hopefully continue to listen to player feedback in Season 11. Alongside the official release of Clash Mode in Season 11, Blizzard could allow players to try out the upcomingSupport hero code-named Space Rangerbefore her launch in Season 12.
Regardless, with any luck, the developers will continue to tend to heroes that have received less attention over the past few seasons. Down the road, a Brigitte Mythic skin is all but inevitable, especially when considering that the game currently only has ten supports, four of which already have Mythics. Whether that will be soon remains to be seen, but at the very least, there is hopefor Brigitte playersthat the mace-wielding medic will find her way to the spotlight again one day.
