Overwatch 2is a first-person hero shooter that features an ever-expanding roster of well over 30 heroes. EveryOverwatch 2hero slots into one of three classes, Tank, DPS, and Support. Each of them are equipped with their own weapons, passives, and abilities.
With how unique these heroes are, most players are able to find a character that they perform well on, and more importantly, have fun playing. However, some heroes appeal to a wider audience, or simply have more fun kits, meaning that someOverwatch 2heroes have very low pick rates. Players looking to climb will also tend to gravitate to the strongest heroes in the current meta, avoiding these weaker heroes.

7Brigitte
Despite currently being one ofthe best supports inOverwatch 2, Brigitte is the least-picked hero in the role. Why this is, is hard to tell. She is one of the most unique supports in the game, with less emphasis on healing than the rest and more melee action. However, that in itself may be a factor.

Because a support’s success is often measured by how much they heal in any game, players might feel like they aren’t contributing enough with Brigitte. Her uniqueness, while a blessing for her mains, can also deter new players from picking her up as they don’t quite know how to pilot her.
6Echo
Echo is a hero who never quite hit the mark inOverwatch. She remains a niche pick despite having one ofthe most interesting ultimates in the entire game. While she is in a healthy spot balance-wise with an almost spot-on 50% win rate, players simply prefer to lock in other DPS heroes over Echo.
Outside of her ultimate, Echo’s abilities feel a bit weak, as they barely deliver on any specific power fantasy. This is a symptom of a character’s kit not aligning with the overall design and theme, leading to her lower popularity.

5Winston
Winston was one of the old poster boys for the originalOverwatchand the lore of the series, but has always struggled to find popularity in game. This is mainly due to the fact that outside of his volatile ultimate ability, Winston just isn’t that fun. Ultimately, he can feel rather unsatisfying to play.

Winston is also on the weak side of the meta currently, meaning that players have even less incentive to play him, as they are more likely to lose than win. However, this doesn’t stop the best players fromfinding success on Winston.
4Junker Queen
Out of the least pickedOverwatch 2heroes,Junker Queen is one of the best. Players tend to find success more often than not when they do pick her. Still, there are many factors as to why players select other more popular tanks, such as D.VA and Reinhardt, over Junker Queen.
The first is that she isn’t really a true tank that teams need. Junker has a more fighter-based playstyle and doesn’t offer much to the team in terms of utility, making her a greedy pick now thatOverwatchis only a 5v5 with just one tank.

3Roadhog
While some of theOverwatch 2heroes on this list have a low pick rate while actually being quite good, Roadhog is, unfortunately, both unpopular and bad at the same time. Currently, he has a shockingly low win rate, which makes it no surprise that players don’t want to opt for him overthe best tanks inOverwatch 2.
While Roadhog’s hook is admittedly a very fun ability, that’s pretty much it. Gameplay aside, Roadhog as a character has also failed to make it into the hearts of mostOverwatchplayers, with a fairly generic design.

2Torbjorn
Torbjorn is one of the originalOverwatchheroes, but as of late few players have been picking him in their games. As aDPS hero, Torbjorn has lots of competition with it being the class with the most heroes, and most of them are simply more fun to play as for the vast majority of the player base.

His gameplay, which revolves around his stationary turret, just doesn’t attract as many players who could instead be dashing around the map on high octane heroes. Despite his lack of popularity, Torbjorn is still a solid pick, especially in the right hands.
1Wrecking Ball
When new characters are developed in a game with an already well-established roster, risks have to be taken to create truly unique gameplay. While these risks often work out with new heroes being extremely popular, they can also backfire, with players finding the kit too weird or no fun.
This is the case with Wrecking Ball. Despite having a decent win rate, he has by far the lowest pick rate inOverwatch 2. His low popularity likely stems from the fact that his gameplay isn’t what most players are looking for in an FPS game and the fact thatWrecking Ball is difficult to get to grips with.
