Kizaru is extremely powerful and over the last few chapters, he has shown that he’s capable of taking on Luffy at his very best as well. In the recent chapter,One Piece1093, Kizaru showcased a new facet of his Devil Fruit power and that is to create multiple clones using his fruit. There are several ideas as to how he managed to pull this off, however, some are certainly more interesting than others.
Kizaru’s Pika Pika no Mi
Kizaru was introduced as a Marine Admiral during the Sabaody Archipelago arc, when he was sent to the island to deal with Luffy, who punched one of the Celestial Dragons. Although his goal was solely Luffy, he was able to defeat four of the 11 Supernovas effortlessly and that just goes to show how dangerous he was without even trying.Kizaru displayed his Pika Pika no Mi powersimmediately after he arrived on the island and fans realized that he had the ability to manipulate as well as turn into light. It did not take readers long to figure out that Kizaru was actually a Logia type of Devil Fruit user and that only meant that he was going to be overpowered.
Just like the other original Admirals, Kizaru had a powerful Logia at his disposal. Aokiji had the ability to manipulate and turn into ice, Akainu was shown using the ability to turn into magma, and Kizaru was shown to have the ability to turn into light. Out of all three, Akainu is certainly the strongest, however, the very best and most intriguing Devil Fruit definitely belongs to Kizaru. This Devil Fruit simply allows him to control all aspects of light. He is essentially a light human, meaning he is made out of light and he can also produce and control it as he will.

He can even touch light and wield it however he wants. For instance, Kizaru can create a sword out of light that he can use to cut his enemies. He can produce a torrent of spheres that can barrage his enemies at light speed and he can produce a path for himself to travel at the speed of light. There are quite a lot of abilities that Kizaru can use with his incredible Devil Fruit and most recently, Oda showcased another incredible aspect of this power for the fans to see.
How Kizaru Created His Clones
InOne Piecechapter 1093, Kizaru displayed a completely new ability for the fans to witness. WhenLuffy used Gear 5 and hurled Kizarutowards the sea, the Marine Admiral took flight and decided to fight back using a very unique technique. The start of this technique was quite similar to one of his attacks that fans have seen quite often, called Yasakani no Magatama. This technique allows Kizaru to produce tiny spherical particles that he can then barrage at his enemies from all sides. Given that these travel at the speed of light, it is incredibly difficult to dodge all of them. In fact, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that it is impossible to dodge all of them and very few people who have taken it head-on have survived.

Here,Kizaru used this ability to barrage Luffywith these spherical bullets, however, that is precisely when he pulled off a completely new ability. Every single one of these spherical bullets suddenly started turning into Kizaru himself. Essentially, Kizaru displayed the ability to clone himself. Given that he had fired off quite a lot of these spherical bullets towards Luffy, the Straw Hat pirate found himself surrounded by multiple clones of Kizaru. Usually, one would assume that these clones only exist to cause an illusion, and open up a way for the real body to land an attack. Generally, that is the cliche associated with them. However, Kizaru uses them in a very different way, to the surprise of the fans. Every single clone that Kizaru created out of his Yasakani no Magatama beads appears to be capable of their own actions and thoughts. These clones themselves were seen wielding a light sword, called Ame no Murakumo. Using these light swords, they then decided to fight against Luffy, instead of only allowing an opening for the real body to strike. While Luffy was able to fight back against them quite easily, one of them managed to land a cut on his cheek, which just goes to show that they can actually harm Luffy but Luffy cannot touch them in return.
Luffy immediately compared these light clones to the holograms that he saw on the island earlier as well as the Hollows created by Perona. This is down to the fact that he could not harm them or touch them with Armament Haki. However, after luring all of them behind him in a single line, Luffy used a Dawn Stamp to kick all of them at the same time and, with that, the light was dispelled.
Given that these clones are not Kizaru himself, it is likely that they do not possess the ability to re-materialize after the light has been scattered, which might be the only weakness of these clones.Luffy is strong, so he can easily handle themin a fight, however, against regular opponents, this ability could be extremely dangerous. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that this power could wipe out an entire army by itself.
Kizaru’s Devil Fruit Awakening?
There are a lot of ideas as to what thisDevil Fruit power of Admiral Kizaruis. A very popular idea that has sprung forth recently is that Kizaru is actually making use of his Devil Fruit Awakening to pull this off. While this certainly does sound very interesting, given that all of his clones appear to be capable of fighting on their own, it does seem a bit too underwhelming for a Logia Awakening. It must be noted that all of Kizaru’s clones did the same thing and followed Luffy in a line and tried to attack him with a sword. Had they been individuals with their own train of thought, they would likely have acted differently.
This suggests that Kizaru programmed these light beams to act a certain way and, even though they were strong enough to attack Luffy and even cause them to bleed, they were, at the end of the day, just a distraction so the real Kizaru could find and assassinate Vegapunk.
So far, fans do not know what the Awakening of Logia type is. This power could either be similar to the Paramecia types, where the user permanently turns things into their own element, or, it could be something beyond, such as the idea that these users can give life to their own element. Even if that is true, this clone ability should not be all there is to his Awakening. Given that these Awakenings have been hidden for so long, naturally, fans expect them to be very overpowered.
