Monkey D. Luffy is the main protagonist ofOne Piece. He has fought many enemies in his journey, which has helped him gain valuable experience. Luffy’s strongest opponent to date is Kaido, the Strongest Creature in the World. He engaged in a fierce duel with the Emperor and narrowly came out on top.

As Luffy and his crew leave Wano behind, many adventures await them. They will fight stronger adversaries, and they will have to be at their best to take them down. Luffy, in particular, will have to be at the top of his game if he wants to take down his future opponents inOne Piece.
5Akainu
Akainu is the current Fleet Admiralof the Marines. He earned the promotion after fighting against Aokiji for ten consecutive days. The power of the two individuals was enough to change the entire climate of Punk Hazard. A key reason for Akainu’s victory was the Magu Magu no Mi. It is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants him complete control over magma.
Oda even stated that it has one of the highest offensive powers among all the Devil Fruits inOne Piece. In addition to the Magu Magu no Mi, Akainu also has tremendous physical abilities that set him apart from the other Marines. He was able to withstand a severe beating from Whitebeard, after which he continued to chase the pirates on Marineford. Luffy hates Akainu for what he did to Ace during the Summit War. The next time Akainu and Luffy cross paths, it will be the end for either one of them.
4Five Elders
Most people believe the Five Elders to be the leaders of the World Government. However, the truth is that they take orders from Imu and pass them down to other organizations, such as the Cipher Pol and the Marines. The Five Elders are overly protective of Imu, and they will do anything in their power to hide the secret of their existence. The Five Elders deeply respect Imu and obey their every command. The Five Elders specialize in certain fields, and they oversee everything related to them.

The Five Elders are also Devil Fruit users, and it is plausible to assume that all of them have Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruits or possibly Logia-type Devil Fruits. The nature of their abilities is unknown, but fans can expect the Five Elders to be extremely powerful. While the Five Elders rarely leave the Holy Land, it is not impossible. In the Egghead arc, St. Jaygarcia Saturn was seen going to Vegapunk’s island to put an end to the scientist’s life. It is highly likely that he will fight Luffy, who is also present on the island. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top between them.
3Shanks
Shanks is one of the Four Emperors and the captain of the Red Hair Pirates. He is the only pirate who is on good terms with the World Government and the Marines. Shanksmanaged to enter Marijoaand secure an audience with the Five Elders, which shows that he is an extremely respected man. When it comes to strength, there are only a few individuals who can match Shanks. His mastery over all types of Haki makes him a dangerous opponent, one that most characters don’t want to face.
Shanks served as Luffy’s role model and inspiration to become a pirate. There is no malice between the two, so it seems unlikely that they will fight each other. However, Luffy and Shanks do have the same motive of claiming the One Piece and becoming the King of the Pirates. In the event that the two do clash, it will be an extremely emotional moment for both, given their history.
2Blackbeard
Blackbeard has been hyped by mostOne Piecefans as Luffy’s final opponent for a long time. He faced Luffy for the first time in Impel Down, and it ended with Blackbeard easily overwhelming his opponent. Blackbeard continued to rise through the ranks and became an Emperor. Blackbeard has two Devil Fruits at his disposal: the Gura Gura no Mi and the Yami Yami no Mi.

The Gura Gura no Mi allows him to create earthquakes, giving him the power to destroy the entire world. The Yami Yami no Mi falls in the Logia bracket, and he can use it to nullify the power of other Devil Fruits. Blackbeard is also looking for the One Piece, and he hasalready found three Road Poneglyphs. It won’t be long before he starts moving for the fourth and final Road Poneglyph. It is likely that he will encounter Luffy as they fight for possession of the last Road Poneglyph. Luffy also considers Blackbeard an enemy for what he did to Ace. A lot has changed since their last meeting, and there is no doubt that their next fight will be a classic.
1Imu
Imu is the true sovereign of the world, a fact that has been hidden by the Five Elders. According to Ivankov, Imu might have ties to the Nerona Family, making them one of the twenty founding rulers of the World Government. Imu also seems to have undergone the Immortality Operation courtesy of the Ope Ope no Mi.
Considering Imu is at the very topof the World Government, it is plausible to assume that their power will be unlike anything that fans have seen in the story. While most details about Imu’s past and powers remain unknown, one thing is clear: they want to eliminate Luffy at all costs. They have been seen with Luffy’s poster, which hints at their intention to get rid of the pirate. A confrontation between the two might occur toward the end of the final saga.
