As fans know already, Yonko Blackbeard is central to this arc in many ways and so is Koby, who fans previously found out was captured by Blackbeard. This chapter focused on the rescue of Captain Koby, led by the Vice Admiral of the Navy, the Legendary Hero, Garp. One Piecechapter 1080 also gave fans a lot of insight into the power and functioningof the Blackbeard Piratesand the Navy at the same time. It also packed quite a bit of action and was intense, to say the least.
The Fate Of Captain Koby
Captain Koby was revealed to have been abducted inOne Piecechapter 1059, which was a flashback chapter where the events of Amazon Lily were covered in great detail. After the conclusion of the flashback, it was revealed that Captain Koby had been captured by Blackbeard. One Piece1080 revealed Koby to be a captive on Fullaled Island. Blackbeard revealed one of his biggest goals in this chapter and, by the looks of it, he intended to become the King of his own country. The island of Hachinosu, which is also known as the Pirate Island, was to be his country and he didn’t want to create just any country but one that was recognized by the World Government itself.
Koby, knowing this, argued with Blackbeard, saying that the government would never allow that and Blackbeard then revealed his strategy which was to trade Koby for an official recognization of the Pirate Island as a country. It was there that Aokiji stepped in and explained the functioning of the Navy organization called SWORD. It was revealed to the fans thatSWORD is an organization that consists of Navy Officerswho have already handed in their resignation and, in return, they’re allowed to act on their own accord without asking for permission, however, the Navy are not responsible for their safety and, at the same time, they can lose their status at any time the Navy so wishes.

Despite the fact that Koby was a useless pawn, Blackbeard still intended to attempt to get this deal done due to the Hero status of Koby. In the present, fans got their first look at the Blackbeard Pirates following the timeskip in a proper manner.
The Devil Fruit Powers Of The Blackbeard Crew
As fans know already, half of Bleackbeard’s crew is currently with him someplace in the New World where they are combating against one of the membersof the Worst Generation, Trafalgar Law. Meanwhile, the other half is on Hachinosu, and their job was to simply watch over the island. Koby seems to have escaped after being freed by Perona. In exchange, he is to free Gecko Moria from his prison. In essence, Koby made an alliance with the pirates, however, he soon realized that escaping from Hachinosu was a task that was almost impossible, given the number of pirates present there.

Oda slowly went over all the members of the Blackbeard Pirates and the Devil Fruit abilities were also revealed one by one inOne Piece1080. Shiryu, Captain of the First Ship, is the user of the Clear Clear Fruit. This isn’t a surprise to the fans as chapter 925 of One Piece already revealed this bit of information. However, all the other Devil Fruits from Blackbeard’s crew were new additions to the story. Avalo Pizarro, the Corrupt King, was revealed to be a user of the Island Island Fruit. Meanwhile, Vasco Shot was revealed to be the user of the Glug Glug Fruit, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise to the fans. Meanwhile, Sanjuan Wolf, who is also known as the Battleship, was revealed to be a user of the Big Big Fruit.
The Legendary Hero Steps Up
With all of the powerhouses on the island, it was immediately established that escape was not an option for Koby, even though he was trying his hardest. That is where Garp made his entry in One Piece chapter 1080. He was able to throw his battleship in the air and ride it after. Garp was leading a unit of the SWORD, which fans saw last in chapter 1071. One by one, Oda went over the Devil Fruit abilities of all the SWORD members. Fans were introduced to new characters such as Kujyaku, the granddaughter of the legendary Tsuru of the Navy.
At the same time, other characters, such as Prince Grus, and Hibari, also made quite an appearance, showing off their flashy Devil Fruit powers. Kujyaku was revealed to have the power of the Whip Whip Fruit, while Grushas a Paramecia fruit, known as the Goo Goo Fruit. Hibari seems to wield one of the weapons created by Dr. Vegapunk long ago in the past. The highlight of the chapter came towards the end when Garp, the Vice Admiral, jumped in to rescue Koby and attacked the entire island. Garp unleashed the terrific power of his Conqueror’s Haki and punched the island so hard that the vast majority of the town on it crumbled entirely. He declared that he was there to beat them up and rescue his apprentice, Koby, who he believes to be the future of the Navy. With Garp are Helmeppo, and Tashigi and, together, they are going to show the pirates the wrath of the Navy.
