Cooking food is not only great for your character’s health inOnce Human, but it’s also an excellent source of on-demand buffs that’ll help keep you going. Basic food is enough for daily life, but if you want better buffs, you’ll need to cook recipes that use fancier ingredients like Caviar.
Caviar is surprisingly rare, and while you may occasionally stumble upon some in your explorations, securing a good source of this ingredient can be a bit of a pain. If you’re one of the many players who have been stuck looking for Caviar, here’s a quick guide covering exactly how you can make some of this rare ingredient on your own.
How To Get Caviar In Once Human
To getCaviar, you must first unlock theIntegrated Kitchenmemetic node under the fourth tier of the Logistics tree. Unlocking it will cost 5 Ciphers and 700 Energy Links. You can get Ciphers by leveling up, and you can easilyget Energy Links inOnce Humanby crafting and selling pickaxes to NPC vendors. If you get the specialization that unlocksSilver IngotandGold Ingotrecipes, you can sell those instead for better gains.
Getting the Integrated Kitchen node unlocks the recipe for Caviar and Butter as well as the blueprint for theKitchen Set, which is the best cooking station available in the game so far. You won’t need it though, as Caviar can be cooked on a regularElectric Stove.
Now that you have the Caviar recipe unlocked, you’ll be able to cook some any time you want. However, you’re going to need three units of Roe to cook one Caviar, and getting this ingredient is going to involve a lot of luck and patience. You’ll need togo fishing inOnce Humanif you want to get Roe, and unfortunately, the odds of getting this ingredient is very low. Stock up on fishing bait, put a podcast or some music on, and spend some time catching fish.
What Is Caviar For?
Caviar itself cannot be eaten alone. It is an ingredient used for more advanced food recipes. This is notably used for cookingStargazy Pizzaand Tacos. Before you can cook either of these, you’ll need to find their recipes first:
The recipe for Stargazy Pizza is the main shack in Fisherman’s Wharf. Meanwhile, the Taco recipe is on one of the tables in the restaurant next to the Rift Anchor inthe High Banks area inOnce Human. It’s erroneously labeled asHerbal Teaas of writing, but once you consume the recipe in your inventory, you’ll unlock Tacos instead.
