Graphics cards are a key component for any PC gamer, and with so much choice, it can sometimes be difficult to know which to go for. However, it’s all been a bit of a moot point anyway, as the ongoing shortages, and subsequent price hikes, have made it difficult to get hold of Nvidia orAMDhardware. On top of that, theRTX 4000 series could be coming this September, as well as RDNA 3 at some point, ushering in the next GPU generation. Until then, there is some good news for those looking to get a current card.

According to some data conducted by Tom’s Hardware, it looks as though graphics cards are still coming down in price, a trend that has been continuing for a couple of months now. While they are still above their MSRPs, bothAMDand Nvidia products have experienced drops lately, with some going into double figures, and is something that any gamer or PC enthusiast will want to keep an eye on.

While some, such as the GeForce 2080 Super, only saw a drop of around 1.6% on average, it seems as though every single model for both companies is getting cheaper. Something like theAMD 6600 XT, which came out last August, dropped by around 10.2% based on eBay listings, With the Nvidia RTX 3070 seeing a similar price reduction. All of this information has been gathered by the source, comparing how prices were last month to how they currently look midway into March. In general, things may be on the up and up.

There is still a way to go, but withgraphics card prices dropping all the time, at least since the start of this year, it might not be long before they are back to their MSRPs, so potential buyers are urged to keep their ear to the ground. Of course, that’s not to say that they won’t skyrocket again, especially as more products come out. The market has already seen a downswing in prices only for it to shoot back up again, but it’s still notable that it’s happening at all.

There is also still some hardware from this generation that is supposedly on the way. With team red rumored to be unveiling more high-end RX GPUs and team green’sRTX 3090 Ti hopefully out soon, both Nvidia andAMDare looking to keep themselves at the top of their game as the next generation looms, especially with Intel about to enter the race as well.
