Hello Games has sent out a hotfix forNo Man’s Skyin the hope of addressing some of the concerns fans had with the recent 4.0 update. Although there is a strong community surrounding the galaxy exploration title, with it even being apopular game on Valve’s Steam Deck, there has been some backlash since the Waypoint update rolled out over a week ago. The developer has taken on board some of the feedback, with the goal of fixing some of the issues players have been having.A number ofNo Man’s Skyfans were unhappy with version 4.0, which was released to try and streamline the game, especially for those who were new to it or had not played in a while and were put off by all the updates. One of the biggest complaints voiced by many in the community has been about the changes to the inventory system. While there were more slots added to a player’s stock and armory, it came at a price, with the patch reducing the number of technology upgrades. Some lashed out at the game and developer by review bombing the release on Steam, with it currently sitting at a “mostly positive” rating.RELATED:No Man’s Sky Releases Massive 4.0 Waypoint UpdateHowever, it looks as though Hello Games has attempted to rectify this with a new update. According to the patch notes, players who upgrade theirNo Man’s Skysave to Waypoint will be given an additional technology slot. On top of this, there’s also been a new difficulty setting added, which allows fans to “lock themselves out” of other difficulties, with this option being permanent once selected. There have been several bug fixes as well. The studio’s co-founder Sean Murray took to Twitter recently to say that players should start to see a “bunch of improvements,” which have come about due to community feedback.

It’s possible these changes will placate those who were displeased with version 4.0 of the game, but there will always be criticisms. It’s no secret thatNo Man’s Skybombed when it launched in 2016, with many accusing the developer of intentionally misleading the public about the game’s content. Fortunately, the team managed to turn things around with a ton of free updates and fixes, transforming the game into a celebrated sci-fi title for the most part.

On top of the update, Hello Games said not long ago thatNo Man’s Skyno longer needs a dedicated graphics cardin order to run. This opens up opportunities for those playing on lower spec PCs, and with the recent hotfix, hopefully the game will continue to be as popular as it has been.
