It was earlier this year thatNioh 2launched to rave reviews and positive fan reception. Developer Team Ninja’s own spin on theDark Soulsformula became a big hit with the originalNiohin 2017 and withNioh 2being just as successful, it’s no surprise it is getting a great package deal alongside new ports.

Publisher Koei Tecmo confirms thatNioh 2will receive the Complete Edition treatment by packaging the 2019 sequel along with all ofNioh 2’s post-release DLC expansions. The publisher also announced that the Complete Edition won’t simply be limited to the PlayStation 4, but also release on PC and PlayStation 5.

TheNioh 2 Complete Editionwill release on February 5 in 2021 and will includethe already released Tengu’s Discipleand Darkness in the Capital DLC packs as well as the forthcoming First Samurai expansion. WithNioh 2releasing in March of this year, the port for Steam comes just under a month away from a full year of PlayStation exclusivity. PC players will also get the added bonus often associated with Steam releases, a wonderfully goofy hat.Nioh 2players will receive an exclusive “Valve Helmet” which takes the term “keyboard samurai” quite literally.

The Official PlayStation blog confirms thatNioh 2 Complete Editionfor the PlayStation 5 won’t simply be a port, but a remaster.NiohandNioh 2will be coming to the PlayStation 5 throughThe Nioh Collectionwhich will feature remasters for both titles. The blogpost announcement further confirms the remasters will be available for purchase separately and that they will both beComplete Editions for the originalNiohand its 2020 sequel.Nioh 2 Complete Editionfor PlayStation 4 does allow for a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for those holding out on a next-gen upgrade.

Team Ninja did give some of the juicier details for what players can expect from the PC port ofNioh 2. A tweet from the developer’s official Twitter account confirmed thatNioh 2 Complete Editionwill be taking full advantage of the PC. The tweet made sure to note thatNioh 2will support 4K resolutions, Ultra wide-screen compatibility, HDR support alongside 144Hz monitors, and 120 FPS. The PlayStation 5 remaster ofNioh 2is confirmed to support 4k resolution and 120 FPS.

DespiteNioh 2ranking high in the sale chartsand getting positive feedback, the game unfortunately released just before the ultra successfulAnimal Crossing: New Horizonswhich would dominate the gaming landscape. With the PC port and the remaster set to release next year, it may giveNioh 2another chance to make an impression without being overshadowed.

Nioh 2is available now on PlayStation 4 and will release on PC and PlayStation 5 on Jul 06, 2025.
