With the release of the highly-anticipatedTriangle Strategyjust over a month away, Square Enix has been slowly teasing fans with more about the upcoming strategy game from the team that worked onOctopath Traveler. The iconic JRPG developer has released multipletrailers detailing some ofTriangle Strategy’s main castwhile also peppering in information about the game’s various mechanics and systems. Now, the newest trailer takes a look at one of the highest-ranking members of one of the game’s three countries, House Wolffort.

When Square-Enix announced that the team behind 2018’s widely-acclaimedOctopath Travelerwould be creating a tactical RPG for Switch, many fans were quick to draw comparisons to the developer’s classic tactical RPG,Final Fantasy Tactics.Triangle Strategyheavily pushes a similar storytelling style toOctopathas the game looks to follow a wide cast of players, pushing the idea that player choice can affect the outcome of the story. Now, asTriangle Strategybegins to reveal more about its cast of characters, the most recent trailer places the spotlight on the Wolffort family’s servant, Benedict Pascal.

The newest trailer introduces Benedict as a loyal servant of the Wolffort family, serving the royal bloodline since protagonist Serenoa’s father, Symon, was the Lord of House Wolffort. Benedict is portrayed as a stalwart and confident steward whose loyalty is solely devoted to House Wolffort to the point thatthe character will betray his alliesif it ensures the safety of his master. The trailer also teases at Benedict’s backstory with a traumatic event lending itself to his marked focus on the protection of Serenoa and House Wolffort as a whole.

The second half fo the trailer also details somegameplay mechanics players can look forward toinTriangle Strategy. Players will be given the opportunity to choose between multiple different strategies when approaching a battle, tasking players with choosing between brute force and finer methods like deception and diplomatic solutions.Triangle Strategywill also feature several ways to strengthen their units, whether by using medals to promote a character’s job or upgrading characters' unique weapons and unlocking weapon skills.

WhileTriangle Strategylooks to be the sole focus of the team known forOctopath Travelerand theBravely Defaultseries, Team Asano intends to be particularly busy throughout 2022. Producer Tomoya Asano had previously revealed through theBravely DefaultTwitter thatTeam Asano intends to release multiple games this year, with fans speculating that anOctopath Travelersequel or a newBravely Defaultgame may be in development. While Team Asano has made no concrete announcements about any of its projects pastTriangle Strategy, the strategy game is shaping up to be a stunning tribute to a classic RPG genre.

Triangle Strategyis scheduled to release on March 4 for Nintendo Switch.
