It’s been announced thatGranblue Fantasy: Relinkhas passed 1 million copies sold worldwide. This is especially impressive considering the game has only been out for a couple of weeks at the time of this writing. Not only that, butGranblue Fantasy: Relinkhas been a hit with critics as well, with an 82 overall rating onreview aggregate site OpenCritic. User reviews have similarly been highly complementary, with the game currently enjoying a “Very Positive” overall rating from Steam users.

It seems like the positive reaction toGranblue Fantasy: Relinkcould very well be what launches the franchise to new heights.Granblue Fantasyhas already had anime and manga adaptations, but the new game seems to be growing the audience and could potentially result in even more multimedia opportunities. Of course, others will be hoping thatGranblue Fantasy: Relink’s successtranslates to new games, though that remains to be seen.
At the time of this writing, developer Cygames has yet to announce a newGranblue Fantasygame, though it has other projects in the works.Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Party Dashis announced for later this year, while the studio also has the previously announcedProject Awakening,Garnet Arena: Mages of Magicary, and a newMetal Maxgamefor consoles alongsideEiyuu Gakuen Hero-kafor mobile.
Those impressed byGranblue Fantasy: Relinkand interested in playing more of Cygames library should note that many of the studio’s titles are Japan-only games, and some of them are no longer available. The latter is the case with theNintendo-publishedDragalia Lost, which was shut down in 2022 after four years of availability.
