Need for Speed Heat’s release is racing around the corner and is bringing with it a host of new and returning gameplay features, such asNeed for Speed Heat’s drift feature. Beyond the game’s additions to the series and unique features that set it apart from previous iterations, the question has remained of how many available rides there are inNeed for Speed Heat.
The question has now been answered, asNeed for Speed Heat’s official website indicates that there will be 127 cars to start with. These include rides from manufacturers like McLaren, Porsche, Volvo, Ford, Chevrolet, and more.

This is quite a large starting selection of vehicles, especially given the likelihood that there will be more cars to arrive via DLC down the road. While this may not necessarily be paid DLC, as was the case with2015’sNeed for Speedwhich had free content later on,Need for Speed Heatmay eventually get updates that add unpaid content at some point in the future.
With regards to DLC in general, it has been stated thatNeed for Speed Heatwill eventually have a “time-save pack"sometime after the game’s release. Essentially, the pack reveals the locations of every collectible on the game’s map, which should speed up the process for completionists and those looking to explore every nook and cranny ofNeed for Speed Heat. On the other hand, some may want to criticize this approach, as it indicates that the game’s design may be very conducive to the “time-save pack”; almost as if it were simply an element of the game left out as DLC.
It has yet to be seen how the game will stack up with the series' previous installments. The last few entries, including 2015’sNeed for SpeedandNeed for Speed Payback, have gotten mediocre reception, so hopefullyNeed for Speed Heatcan buck the trend.
