The new Glitched series brings a unique twist to some of the greatest players in the game, making them as versatile as ever. Each unit involved in the series will have a stat boosted that is not the player’s strong suit, highlighting the idea that they’re glitched. Imagine Shaquille O’Neal being the player he is, only he is one of the most accurate free-throw shooters in the league. With a dynamic like that, O’Neal would becomeone of the best centers inNBA 2K22and become an unstoppable force with no weakness. It’s a fresh take on a series and can make things interesting as players who are sparsely used in the past can now become leaders for their team.

Four players in total are announced for the Glitched series, each coming with their featured statistical boost in 99-overall Dark Matter form. Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons is often criticized for his inability to hit three-point shots, but that is a thing of the past, as Glitched Ben Simmons can hang with the likes of Stephen Curry. The same can be said for legend Yao Ming, whose biggest Achilles heel was his three-point game. The big man can now get in players' faces with his imposing side or lean back and drain a three. For those looking to createthe best center build inNBA 2K22, it may already exist with Ming’s new Dark Matter unit.

Minnesota Timberwolves D’Angelo Russell may possess the qualities of a player who can register 18 to 20 points per game, but his Glitched unit now covers his defensive shortcomings. The 26-year-old is currently in his seventh season in the NBA, and imagining him with the ability to shoot the way he does and then get back defensively and control a game would make him one ofthe better point guards available inNBA 2K22. The biggest one is Hall of Fame legend Larry Bird, who will go down as one of the greatest players in NBA history, despite his inability to dunk. That’s a thing of the past, as now the 6'9" behemoth can slam it down like no other, making him and the rest of the Glitched units undeniably broken.

NBA 2K22is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
