The official launch ofMultiVersusincludes a number of new character additions to the game’s ever-expanding crossover roster. Along with the fan-favorite superheroes, Season 1 has also included several new villains, likeJason Voorhees, for players to utilize in battles.
Many popular characters, such as the Joker and theBanana Guard, are currently accessible inMultiVersus,while characters like Agent Smith will soon be added to the roster. Agent Smith was first revealed in the game’s official trailer and is slated to be available in the latter part of August. However, for players who want to get their hands on the character early, the developers provide the possibility to unlock Agent Smith two weeks before others by completing a series of tasks.
How to Unlock Agent Smith
Every player may get Agent Smith two weeks before it is released by participating in the’Beat Rifts, Get Agent Smith Free!‘event, which runsuntil July 30. While the date might appear to be sufficient to finish the event’s tiers, it is not, as this event is more difficult than most regularMultiVersusevents.
To get Agent Smith for free, you must completeat least twenty tiers of the event. This can be done by participating in thePvE Rift Eventsanddefeating 20 Rift bosses, as each boss defeat will increase your event tier by one level. Completing all event tiers will award players anexclusive Agent Smith variantthat can only be obtained during this event.
To clarify, rift bosses are thelast characters in each rift event, and each event has only one boss. All other characters you fight before encountering the rift boss will not count towards the event.
As there are only five rift events accessible right now, you must finish each one through all the possible difficulties. Each difficulty level counts as new combat with the rift boss, thus fulfilling your criteria to beat 20 rift bosses.
However, not all rift difficulty levels will be accessible by default. You must first boost your gem level by collecting gems to access additional difficulty levels. Since there are three types of gems, you must level up each one separately.
Alternative Ways to Unlock Agent Smith
Currently, the only way to unlock Agent Smith is to complete the event and achieve Tier 20. However, if the event appears to be too much of a grind, you may wait until the character is officially available to all players.
Sinceall the characters inMultiVersusare intended to appear in the Fighter Store, you may spendFighter Currenciesto unlock Agent Smith once it is launched.
As of the writing of this guide, Warner Bros. Games has yet to announce the release date for Agent Smith. However, based on the event’s end date and the two-week early access granted to players who complete the event, Agent Smith is speculated to be released around mid-August.
