Call of Duty: Modern Warfarejust finished its Valentine’s celebrations last week which featured some double XP events in select playlists and game modes. With Season Two just in the beginning of its run,Modern Warfarestill has plenty of updates and surprises left in store for fans to look forward to as the season continues on. In fact, last week the nextplaylist update teased a 1v1 modecoming to the classicModern Warfare 2map Rust which was recently added to the game at the start of Season 2.
Now, that tease has come to fruition. Along with several other updates toModern Warfare, a 1v1 playlist is coming and exclusively features the Rust map. This means that players can duke it out with each other one-on-one on perhaps the most famous 1v1 map in the entire franchise’s history. Along with that new playlist, Infinity Ward announced a few other changes like the removal of the Valentine’s double XP playlists and some new 24/7 playlists.

Infinity Ward took to Twitter yesterday to briefly share some of the tweaks and changes that were made to the online playlists and game modes forModern Warfarein the coming week. As mentioned above, the playlist that stuck out most was the 1v1 Rust playlist, lovingly called “1v1 Me Bro!” Interestingly, Infinity Ward also recently made the announcement in a blog post that theReinforcement Game Modewill make a return from the title it originated in, beingCall of Duty: Ghosts.

Additionally, Infinity Ward added Rust and Shipment 24/7 into one new playlist called “Flotation Oxidation.” The team also added Tavorsk District back into theGround Warrotation and added NVG Reinforce, as well. Finally, Infinity Ward removed the remaining double XP events from this past weekend.
Season Two still has a decent amount of content left in its run time. For one, the thing most fans are looking forward to is theleaked Battle Royale modeapparently releasing in early March as a free-to-download mode, according to one leak. Rumors and leaks surrounding the heavily speculated battle royale mode have taken over theModern Warfarecommunity as of late, and it seems all but guaranteed.
Unfortunately for those leakers,Activision is now taking action againstthose individuals or parties who have leaked information about the battle royale mode. WhileModern Warfare’s battle royale mode has been one of Activision’s worst kept secrets for some time, leaks are obviously not the way the company wanted to reveal the mode. This is just another harsh realization that leaking confidential game information can be a very dangerous game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
