Revealed in an announcement video, the mob has a brown-colored box-like appearance and features a head similar to the real-life animal. According to the developer, the armadillo can be found in thesavanna biome inMinecraftand rolls into a “blocky ball” when frightened.
While the cute appearance of the armadillo might be a compelling enough reason for some fans to vote for the mob, it also drops a useful material. Known as scute, this material allowsMinecraftplayersto craft wolf armor, something new for the game. As the name suggests, this new craftable item would help fortify a player’s pets from attacks against hostile mobs encountered in the wilderness.
It is worth pointing out that the armadillo is facing stiff competition this year.
