If you are going to cut through the legions of Hell,Mighty Doomasks: why not do it in style? The Doom Slayer’s love for collectible action figures shines through in the mobile title’s alternate skins and unlockable slayers.
Bringing the franchise to mobile for the first time since the ill-fatedDoom RPG,Mighty Doompits the Doom Slayer against his tiniest battle yet. In hisnew chibi incarnation as the Mini Slayer, fans of theDoomreboot games will no doubt recognize how his visual design takes cues from the Collectible Doomguy secrets fromDoom (2016)andDoom Eternal. Just like marketable action-figure equivalents, the Mini Slayer comes in a variety of cosmetic and functional skins, so the player can rip, tear, etc. in style.

Unlocking Weapon Skins

When earning weapons, the player may notice thatnot all weapons are unique, and that some are reskins of weapons already owned. Earning a weapon with a new skin allows the player to select that skin on any version of that weapon owned, which may be toggled by selecting the item from the inventory screen. Each weapon may have its skin set individually for no cost.

A weapon’s skin selection menu may also display a skin which has not been earned as a drop, as indicated by the green button with a crystal value in place of its “equip” button. Clicking this button will allow the player to purchase that skin for the weapon using crystals, allowing the skin to be used for all instances of that weapon.
Upgrade progression is tied to individual weapons, not the skins assigned to them. A weapon may have its skin swapped at any time without affecting its stats or rarity.

Slayers Are More Than Palette Swaps
While all weapon skins arepurely cosmetic, the armor worn by the Mini Slayer can meaningfully impact the player’s capabilities and optimal playstyle. These different sets of armor are referred to as entirely different “slayers” in their own right, and are in some ways treated as different playable characters.
Each slayer has a different base value for their damage and health, as well as a perk unique to the individual slayer. On a purely numeric value, slayers available exclusively through microtransactions arenoticeably stronger than the free-to-playMini Slayer. The perks attached to each slayer are less obviously unbalanced, and are closer to preference picks.
At game’s launch, the following slayers are available:
Slayers may be upgraded usingArgent energy, a resource dropped by enemies during combat. Each slayer upgrades independently of the others, increasing their base stats as well as working towards unlocks at levels 10 and 80, which universally buff all slayers. Argent energy is not specific to any slayer, and as such upgrades are purchased from a shared resource pool.
Slayer Reskins Actually Are Palette Swaps
Each slayer has an alternate skin, which is purely cosmetic and retains all the slayer’s stats, advancements, and perks. Alternate skins for a slayer may be toggled by highlighting the slayer from the selection menu, then selecting “info” in the bottom-right of the screen.
Given that the Mini Slayer is unlocked by default, it’s no surprise that he has an alternate skin which is likewise available without microtransactions. Members ofBethesda’s Slayers Clubare eligible for an exclusive skin, showing what aDoomfanatic they really are.
To redeem the Slayers Club skin for the Mini Slayer, players must first join the Slayers Club usingtheir Bethesda.net account, which may be done for free through Bethesda’s website. Once this is done, players need only to log in to their Bethesda.net account inMighty Doom, available through the Slayers Club option in the settings menu.
